What knives were so good you bought a duplicate?

Benchmade 701-1401 M390. One for now and one for if I lose or wear it out. The perfect size with the perfect steel. Waited a long time for it to be offered.
I just may by two BM 485. Same size as the 707 and M390, full liners with G-10. Should be a nice knife.

I bought 2 of the DPX HEST after using one to pry open a car door after a wreck. Admittedly I didn't have a long way to pry, but the driver was a WW2 vet and the engine was beginning to burn.

If the BM485 is what I think it is, I may end up with two. One to customize and one for spare.

I do own 2 mini grips, but blades are different. I've always wanted to try a tanto so I figured what better platform to get a good beater.

I get at least doubles of all the knives I like, especially if they are discontinued models.

Maybe this is just me, but I dont see the point of buying a duplicate of a knife. Someone please tell me why. There are just so many knives out there why spend money on two of the same ones. I can see if the knife is getting discontinued, but besides that??

When you find a good knife it helps to have more than one. I keep a Buck 110 in my truck and can thrash on it all day cutting wire, cardboard, or whatever. I also keep a surgically sharp 110 with my hunting gear for field dressing and cleaning. The thing about a good knife is you can find more than one use for it. However, my truck knife wouldn't make a good woods surgeon mainly because it usually isn't very sharp.

Others I just collect for the love of knives in general. Possibly as heirlooms or gifts too. A nice knife can turn a non-knife person into a diehard fan overnight.

On the budget end of things, the Enlan EL-01 in all it's various colours, the SanRenMu 710/7010 series and the 4107 - 4108, all of them.

Thanks for the response. I just look at it as I always have a knife in my pocket so I dont leave my knives in other places.

I don't blame you a bit. I only scatter a few knives here and there, otherwise I would lose most of them or someone would walk off with them. I keep a Dragonfly 2 in my pocket most of the time and honestly it covers about 95% of my edc needs.

MooreMaker trappers (yellow cow shin and ram horn) ,two Kershaw leeks , 2 BM 940 s30 v , and 2 BM 710 d2. Oh yeah 2 kershaw skylines.
