what lights ya carry??

I carry a fenix L1D for EDC and the outdoors. Extra batteries too.

I also always have a LED keychain light somewhere on my person.

EXTRA:
One time my friends and I were out on a late bushwack day hike (no trail). I was the only person who had anything usefull and brought extra stuff since I knew my friends were not going to be very prepared. It was getting late and I said "we better start hiking back" they didnt really understand that streetlights dont exist in the forest -and I didnt really care because we were on an Island with no preditors (Maui) and we could have slept it out if necisary. Long story short -I had three LED keychains and we all used them in the black of night to get off of the forested lava rock mountain. It took us about Five hours because there are a lot of holes (or pitfalls) that we didnt want to stumble into. I dont go anywhere without those little keychain LEDs, they can really save the day.

You can use lithion CR123 cells with all SF lights. You just have to be careful and make sure they are a true 3 volts per cell.

You get a slightly diminished runtime but for a EDC light it's indispensable to be able to pop them out at the end of the day and have them back at full strength in the morning.

like Josh K said if you want to play it safe by LifePo4 3 volt rechargables - tenergy makes ones but the cream of the crop are by AW which can be found on candlepower marketplace, lighthound or I think even 4sevens. You get 1/3 the runtime of primary cells but don't have to worry about long term damage to the LED.

Honestly though regular 3.7 volt rcrs will be fine - I've used them in my e2dl for over 6 months with no ill effects. You will get some flickering on low mode but that should dissapear as soon as the voltage drops down.

Enjoy!

I've been using Li-ion cells in all my lights for several years. Any light purchase I make depends heavily on the ability to use them. I'm willing to make a small runtime compromise to run Li-ions. My problem is that Surefire has tightened their tolerances on the E-series bodies to the point that RCRs and 17670s no longer fit. Or at least it's a lottery to see if they will or not. I don't believe that any of them will fit in the new LX2 from what I've read over at CPF. I have no experience with any of the 3.0 volt LifePo4 or other chemistries. If they have slightly smaller ODs then they would work but do they diminish your runtime even more than 3.6V Li-ions?

I own the new LX2 and AW IMR 3.7v rcr123s fit the tube. I have also been able to fit AW's LiFePo4 3v rcr123s in the LX2 which are the safest for this light but you get 1/3 the runtime of primaries but it's free lumens ;)

I cannot speak for his more popular 3.7v LiCo rcr123s as I like using the safer chemistry of the above cells and don't mind a hit on runtime. I also don't like how wi LiCo has auto shutoff protection when voltage is too low w no warning.

I cannot speak for Tenergy brand but i'm sure CPF can confirm for sure - just make sure they have actually owned the LX2 and tried the cells ;)

My Tenergy cells fit in the lights. I play it safe with rechareables. LED's have a limited amp range. The regulation isn't as much as the amount of current you shove through them.

Wow. Back from the dead this thread. :D

I recently got my full blown SAINT (headlamp, battery pack, and single cell adapter) and a LX2. I love the LX2 because the low mode is incredibly useful. A real winner in terms of amount of light and beam pattern. Then I can always switch to the spotlight 200 lumen mode by depressing the tailcap a little bit more.

The SAINT works great in the single cell / lightweight mode. It's the same thing as the Minimus. Easily stuffed in a pocket or bag but secure on the head and easily adjustable.

McGizmo Sapphire

Quark Ti AA
Quark Mini AA

Standard walking at night light is an MG PLI w/ MC-E. Nice and bright, great for getting drivers to pay attention at crosswalks. I also use it on the handlebars of my mountain bike. Puts out around 500 lumens for an hour per 18650 battery. It's my most used light at the moment because it's so bright.

For walking in the woods I really like my Malkoff MD2 w/ M60WF. Nice warm and wide beam. I have a second MD2 with consecutive serial# that will be getting an XP-G as soon as they're available.

Also in the collection is a Romisen RC-T5 which has 4 Crees run by two 18650s. It was my former bike light. It's a bit purplish tint for my current tastes.

I bought my fiancee a JetBeam MIIIW last year, it's a great light.

Also have an Ultrafire 501, a Rexlight 2.0 AA, Ultrafire C2, and a Wolf Eyes M90. Fourteen 18650 batteries of which I keep most of them charged at all times.

fenix ld20. Had the normal batteries die on me because of the cold this december (-15Celcius) but had an extra pair of lithium batteries with me on the ld20 headband :) no problems, love the sucker.
have the red filter as an addon too.

I love the Li-ion cells. I use 2 x AW 16340 LiFePO4 cells in my Surefire A2 Aviator and they seem to work very well.

My EDC:
Liteflux LF2XT R2 (10440 Li-ion) on the keyring
Nitecore D10 R2 (14500 Li-ion) in my left front jeans pocket
Olight Ti Infinitum (16340 Li-ion) in my left jacket pocket

I have other lights at home and when I go camping I take:
Zebralight H60w
Jetbeam Jet-IIIM
Surefire A2
Maglite 2D with Pelican 3854 bulb running from 2 x 32600 Li-ion cells (modded with glass lens and Aluminium reflector)

I have plenty of other lights as well including some rather powerful modded Maglites:
77W (regulated) Mag 3D
180W Mag 4D
212W (regulated) Elephant II body + 3" Throwmaster head - it's amazing how much power you can shove into a 90W bulb!

Standard walking at night light is an MG PLI w/ MC-E. Nice and bright

I have one of these too - plenty of light for a flashlight of its size!

6P with Malkoff drop-in.

Always have a Photon on my keychain.

I carry a fenix L2T on my belt and a maglite solitare on my keys. I like the fenix because of he variable output. 16 lumen low setting and a 152 lumen high mode. can't be beat for the price.

just picked upa saint minimus, used it night snow shoeing last night-awesome. love it. I only needed a little bit of light here and there and I could dial it in with heavy gloves on and turn it off. I have no need for any other headlamp.

Daily carry is either a SF C2 w/malkoff M60W and a leef custom tail switch or a milky modded SF L2 w/MC-E kicking 350+ lumens. My big gun is a 3d mag modded with a P7 pushing around 650-750 lumens, that upgrade was so easy it made me shake my head.

Waiting for use I have,
SF: 6P W/M60(round body), G2L W/M60LL, E2DL.
Fenix: 1st gen T1, P1D Q5.
and lastly a orb lux 3
O, almost forgot, a pelican 7060 too :)

For the past few months it's been the Quark Ti 1x123, but for a long time before that I was very happy with the Fenix P2D Q5. I have a G2 that I carry in my pack occasionally and a G3 on my AR.

To be honest, most of my daily use is the CountyComm SOLED.
