What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Most of you reading this, if you've been around for a few years, will remember when these came out in December 2012! It was a great day for me - imagine a dream coming true!!;)View attachment 1485960 View attachment 1485961
It's been a long painful year for a lot of us, and GEC's business model has had to adjust! No more SFOs or the associated Joy, seemed to be forthcoming! I did feel like I was hit by a speeding train:eek:, and my so-called career as a knife dabbler had come to an end.
But lo and behold, Bill felt he owed me one more run of TCs!!
Seems that this is the right time, because look what's coming!!:cool:View attachment 1485964
I don't know if this will be the last one:rolleyes:, so contact your favorite dealer, because they will be shipping from GEC soon!! I will post the labels as soon as I finish them!!:D
Thanks Bill!!

So happy to see this Charlie, and glad that Bill is looking out for you. Your designs have certainly played a significant role in the popularity of GEC.

My first GEC, and really the knife that started me on the path I’m on as a knife enthusiast, was a 2013 TC Barlow. I bought it off a dealer’s site with no rush. It’s a heavy user now with lots of wear and tear.

EDIT: I do have one other TC from the 2014 Rendezvous, and a good one at that. I misspoke in my excitement o_O

Could it be any more classic with the spear point and sawed bone? It’ll be one for the ages.

Thats very cool and very much deserved imho. To go from having to be talked into a barlow when they had no intention to make them,to the barlows being so coveted, sought after and immensely successful and popular is a testament to your vision and dedication. Honestly if Bill anounced "No more SFO's except Charlie" it would only be right imho, as I feel you have brought so much to their brand.

ohh, nice surprise, hopefully I can find one. It will go especially nicely with this one.
