Beautiful knife Charlie waynorth waynorth . I have been thinking about you and trying to send positive thoughts in the direction of Bill Howard! Yes it is his brand, and I understand all of that. However, you and Mike @knifeswapper have done some incredible design and material selections that have resulted in better knives for GEC. I have no doubt about that. You have added an extra layer of creativity and imagination.

M mcc850 , you have gotten very good at this game in record time! Congratulations!

Wow you got a great one there! And, thank you for the compliment. I have picked up all of my knowledge about GEC acquisition over the past year and a half from the fine folks here on the porch such as yourself. I really do love these GEC knives. My wife is even starting to come around! I was telling her all about Charlie's knives yesterday. She only yawned once lol

Thanks, I mentioned that earlier as well Jack, wondering why they didn't darken the "TC"? and what is it, an ink/dye?
I always thought it was munge from making the knife that didn’t get polished out. I figured this run got polished more, but that was just an assumption. I don’t know for sure.

Nice to see the Sepias showing up here!! That and great photography!
FYI, the Bolster metal is heated before it is forged, and scale remains in the TC logo, causing the black infill. Re; the clean logos - they may have switched methods of finishing the surface - I will have to ask!!

Judging by the serifs on the T and C, to me the stamp looks deeper on the Ancients, if that’s the case maybe the buffer is able to reach into logo on the newer one better? Looking at the pics you can see what looks like some remnants of scale.

On Paul's pictures side by side you can see that the forgings are exactly the same!! It is expensive to make new forms for hot-forging - they have to be re-inforced!! I know Bill made two forms - a spare in case the first one breaks!! He has a back-up in case of failure during a production run!!

Randy said they got a new press (when I asked about the stamp looking deeper).

You’re probably right Charlie, I trust you more than my aged eyes
The more I look at stamp the more the difference seems to be a trick of the light. Either way I’ll get to see in person in a few days according to tracking info :D
