What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Here are my last two Boker Barlows (do have one on order). Smooth Yellow Bone in C75 carbon steel. It’s a Sunday carry nicknamed “Sunny Sunday” by a forum member whose name escapes me at the moment, my apologies. No patina, but I think it will look great with the yellow when it begins to develop.

And finally, “The Walnut” in C75, this was the first one I bought and was just about the last because it was so hard to open. All of the Bokers are snappy, but for a small knife, this thing has a monster pull and an absolute gator snap! (Think GECs most current run of 23s) Broke both thumb nails several times, but just like with the 23, you have to figure it out (hold the blade and pull the handle) and maybe even practice a bit! Now, I just love it, and you can see from the patina, it is by far the most used of the bunch. Well worth it if you can find one.

That’s all I have at this time, it was fun! Have a good one!

Gotta love a sunny yellow Barlow (especially on a cold day)! Here’s mine.

I’ve been enjoying the showing of Böker Barlows recently.

Wow, is that bone? The color is so even, that’s an eye popper, just gorgeous!
It’s been fun posting them and see all the others. This one of my favorite threads to watch.

bigfish64 bigfish64 that walnut Barlow looks real nice, I've been procrastinating about having one of my 77 Barlow recovered, that walnut has me thinking about it
Walnut on a TC would look fantastic! Love the grain and how walnut takes oil, “The Walnut” got a wipe down last night because I knew I was going to take its picture today, kinda reminded me of when my mom used to lick her finger and wet down my cowlick just before taking a my picture!:D
