WoWoWo waynorth waynorth Charlie I had never seen this style of handle , It must have been a hell to make . It's great :D
The jigging I've asked to Cosimo was of course inspired by the Ancient TC barlow . And Cosimo is really good in bone dying so the combo is beautiful .

Our knifemaker friend Evan (ESNYX!)(haven't seen him for a while!!) handed that to me at the GEC Rendezvous Picnic!! It was a practice piece using the gunsmith's technique of "Checkering". I gave him the knife some weeks before, after using it for a while, and he gave it back to me after trying out the technique! He scored a home run with it!! What a nice gift!!
Here is an "Elephant" he checkered for me later!!Evan Elephant 1.jpg Evan Elephant 2.jpg Evan Elephant 3.jpg Evan Elephant 4.jpg Checkered TCs 1.jpg

One doesn't normally think of checkering as a scale embellishment/ enhancement, but IMHO it can work if done well. As the examples above show.

The pachyderm is quite the nice-looking knife.:thumbsup:
