Thank you Harvey, I think soMany thanks, Jack. Your Samuel Barlow is quite a treasure. There’s narry a false note in Charlie’s sublime collection.
The Robeson is definitely bone. You can see pith were it meets the bolster.Two fairly recent acquisitions: a Kutmaster and a Robeson 512224 Daddy Barlow Mastercraft demonstrator. The front bolster is cut away to show the bronze insert.
Not sure if the Robeson scales are plastic or really dark bone. Looks and feels like bone to me and I have seen others similarly dark.
