What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

What an amazing piece of cutlery.

Thank you my friend.😊

i would love to see this knife in its mint condition, i wonder if the 2014-2015 era 77 barlows were based on these. Also hows the blade to handle ratio? Does it fill the blade well?
It does fill the blade well. When closed, the clip tip extends even to and over the back of the rear pin. The blade closes with a loud snap and very near centered. ;)😊

I can't really say about those 77's ....... maybe some influence ............ but, this knife is nearly identical in size to a TC Barlow, which if memory serves me correctly, Charlie once said that the TC Barlow was patterned after the NYKC Barlow. If memory doesn't serve me correctly, feel free to correct me C.C.. 🤣

Mighty spiffy NYK!!!!

Always appreciated my friend !   😍

NY Knife!! It was the inspiration for the #15s, absolutely!! ;)

A bolster you don't come across all that often, A. Baldwin & Co,Inc, New Orleans, Goins has 1874 to 1939, they were a hardware sporting goods store. Definitely made by Schrade Cut Co, they match up exactly even the fonts on the bolster stamp.

A common Case advertising barlow in well used condition. I did look up Russell Badgett Jr and it turns out he had quite a life, Navy pilot during WW2, multiple companies, the Russell Badgett Jr Coal Co in Kentucky, banking and construction companies that built the PA Turnpipe and Alligator Alley in Florida.

It's a little bigger than my other Keen Kutter Barlows, but, stout, like I used to be. ;)😊
