A Schrade Cut. Co. (S.C. Co. Walden) that was a rust bucket when I got it about 8 years back. Cleaned it up and she still has much authority in her snaps. I always wonder about these old knives when I get them. I think this one might have been left in someone's old metal tackle box. I didn't want to try to make it look too fancy. This knife would still do some hard work.

What a beautiful barlow Mr P. Is the tang stamp the same on the secondary?
Now that is a right handsome looking knife you have there.
Nice one Rob, I think a lot of barlows end up sitting in a tool box or tackle box for decades, the Blue Gras I just posted had a fair amount of rust but no use. Bought at the hardware store and thrown in the tool box 60 years ago and sat in the basement, garage or shed.
Nice job! I have one like it, but just haven't gotten around to cleaning it up yet. The blades on mine look like someone went to work on them with a bench grinder, but it can be made into a nice user with a little work. It still has some good years left in it yet.
Thanks. I got it at a flea market, but I almost passed it up. If the guy wouldn't have come down from the outrageous price of $3 to $2, I may have walked away.Yours looks like it will clean up quite easily. Looks pretty nice the way it is.![]()
Thank you Dwight and they are the same tang stamps.
Thank you DirtDawg.
I agree with you John. This one that I just posted was quite a bit more rusted than I normally buy, but, it did clean up good enough. Attached is one of the sale pics from when I acquired it. I got it back when the Barlow craze around here was in full swing and supply was drying up quick.

Doesn’t get any better than those NY Barlows
Supply of good vintage barlows seems to be down even more now, rarely find a decent one anymore.
Thank you Tim.Doesn’t get any better than those NY Barlows
Thank you Mr P. I am very happy to have found it. The spear blade has great snap and is tight however the pen has zero snap. But I didn't hesitate!Looks like you found another really good one Dwight !
Stag doesn't get any better Steve. Refresh my poor memory. Did you have the lambsfoot re-hafted?

Here's a beauty - 3 3/4" - Tang stamp is too far gone to decipher... Any theories of origin appreciatedView attachment 2004383View attachment 2004384View attachment 2004385View attachment 2004386
