What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Picked up a little bit of Case barlow history. During the XX era Case had contract barlows made by Ulster and possibly Utica. Found one of the Ulster made ones, bolster stamping and tang stamp look exactly like the Case stamps of the era, interestingly the Ulster stamps both bolsters where Case only stamped the mark side bolster.

Here’s a Curved Drop Point Barlow. I had seen these in some catalogs and K’roo makes one. His is just over 4 inches with a blade @ 3 1/4 inches. The covers are African Blackwood. Here’s an old catalog image.

That K’roo reminds me of the Northwoods Madison Barlow.

I keep hoping GEC/Charlie will do curved Barlow at some point. Something like this:

Love these yellow covers, perfect EDC pocketknife, would really patina nicely if I could bring myself to use it.

Nice warm yellow on that one. Although I love the knife, I wish the color on this TC Day’s Work was a bit more like that.

A few older spear blade barlows.

Some nice old Barlows there! I’ve always liked that Schrade bolster, and the Keen Kutter, of course.
