What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

I have been getting rid of knives I don't carry, and I sold two nice spear point Charlows. One with soup bone and one with some really nice ebony covers, both single blades. I carry a single blade ebony spear point every day, so it's not like I am missing out, but man, I do miss them. Nice knives, hopefully they will see some use with their new owner. I have a two blade spear point, and a two blade spear point with the pen blade on the pile side, they are staying home.

Just in time for a new design!

It'll be exiting to see what the barlows with a single spey blade will look like when it's done.

All three look like winners. I really dig the single Farmer's blade. I'm going to NEED one of those.

You never know when you might need a spey blade.....;)

Yes, I've spent my first 60 years on this earth, not ever needing a Spey blade!
Wondering why the heck the cutlers even bothered to make them!
A waste of steel I tell ya!!

But the last 9 years, I have enjoyed 20 or 30 of them. Very useful if you ask me.;)

Funny how time can alter your point of view....

I still keep mine out of sight of my better half mind:)

Great looking farmers barlows, Charlie! The two bladed one looks fantastic. I really like the nail nicks as well. I can't wait to see how these are going to look

i like the clip point blade

then you only need to buy one of the three new models :-)

I have to say, I'm not a huge fan of the spey blade myself (a certain level of understatement there ;) ). I do find them quite useful for hulling strawberries! :D Though a pen will do the job just as well.

Keep up the good work Charlie

In my excitement over the new Charlows coming I got my barlows out for a group pic.

Need to get some pics outside.

Nice collection, Mink!!
Not only did Bill at GEC make the three TCs, but if the Schatt and RCC pre-date 2007, he may have made those also!!
Case made the Case, and Queen made the Stag after Bill left!

Great line-up Mink, all beauties, but I love that Bladeforums Barlow :)

Ho HO, and what's this I see on GEC's production schedule?
