What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

I can hardly wait for the Walnut Spearpoint to be released. On a separate note, I noticed that the Chestnut Jigged Bone comes in many more shades than other scales in the past. The Blood Red looks more uniformed so the Chestnut scales seem to have a bit more character.

Guys, the single blade wood models are in short supply and many are already sold. :-(

With so much interest in long-pulls, I'm surprised that GEC doesn't offer more of them on the #15 pattern.

GEC tends to save long pulls for their Northfield line. Charlie's first TC (Tidioute Cutlery) barlows featured long pulls-- a distinctive distinction-- with GEC's subsequent run of Boys' Knives featuring the same.

For looks, I prefer a long pull; for use, I've found nothing beats a well-placed, deep crescent nick. Ooh, la.

Actually I'm kind of glad I wasn't able to get the wood Barlow because I needed a pair of shoes a lot more than I needed another knife.

I thought this would be appropriate to quote here:

Charlie should change his user name to King Midas.
