What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

The Champlin jigging/ number 3 old school is finer, more random. The jigs or cuts are not as square and tool-like as those on the #74. At least that was true for the one I saw.

Ah, okay. I look forward to seeing it.

I've never been to Franconia, but I've seen that knife somewhere!!

If Franconia is as nice, it'd be a good place to visit!;)

Thank you Santa Charles!:)

I thought I had gotten another meant for Sarah :p But I guess the "P" on mine stands for PERFECT!

Ho ho ho!!:D

Gee they look nice on my computer screen!!:)

PPP is given to the first run of a new pattern, or frame. It usually consists of around 200 knives, or 3-4 different handle material offerings.

Thanks for the explanation of "PPP"!
I got my ebony with 2 blades today and it is a really nice barlow , at least perfect to me !

The only problem is that the spin of the main is too sharp ,but a little strop on 600# sandpaper get it done.

And what I really wonder is that the secondary blade has a huge swedge on only one side . What is that for ?

Very nice, SonnyJim and sitflyer.

Charlie explained that earlier, here:

The two blade: Even though the long pull on the master "hides" behind the pen blade it is easy to access. There is a wide swedge on the back of the pen blade that lets your thumbnail slip right to the pull!

Wow! Thank You again Charlie! :)
What an incredible feat of design and execution! Thy humble Barlow has been raised to places on high with this project!:D

Really... Thank You just doesn't seem enough :)

Thank you is plenty! I can't tell you all how gratifying it is that you all like these knives.
I felt that a real traditional Barlow was missing from the "Big Picture" and with the incredible Talent in Titusville, we got it!!

I received my Swayer Barlows yesterday, and I am speechless with how incredibly nice they all are! Fit and finish is amazing! I particularly like the copperhead single blade one. It will fall into my edc rotation without a doubt. The size is perfect for pocket carry!

Everyone's photos are looking great! I will have to post some pics of my own later on when I get more time.

Thanks again Charlie!

The spear-point main blade's not my cup of tea. But these knives are insanely gorgeous. Truly something I would buy for my grandad to carry, if he weren't toting his old Robeson two-blader up in heaven right now.
