What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

I have knocked that idea around, Justin! Maybe I will bring it out on the Razors. We are starting to see how we can fit the Razors into the production schedule.

Any idea yet what the handles will be on the razors, Charlie? I'm really looking forward to those. Saw cut yellow would be cool.

Nice "Duncan Retrospective" Jon!!

Whoa buddy that's a whole lotta red bone Charlie! Here's one of my red bone barlows from the XX era. Case really made great knives during that era!

Great Barlow, Nick!! Nice deep red!!:)

I resemble Duncan. In the same time frame I went from Zero barlows to currently having 15! (4 of the 15 were received as gifts. Plus I wasn't counting the other 8 Ive given away)

As has been posted elsewhere, hanging around a Knife Forum can make some of us spend money :-). Let me tell you though, its a lot cheaper than hanging around a Car forum :-)

I finally get to put some in my archive collection!

Yup Fes. Beautiful range of knives- my heart still lies with the Spear long pull- just perfect- but these are such a magnificent new range!

This weekend is the Oregon Knife Show. Wish I could be there. I have a feeling there might be a few Traditional Barlows in attendance. Perhaps we will get lucky, and someone will post some photos?

Notice the lack of ec simmons at the top of the banner, possible Shapleigh era, post prohibition and depression ('41)?
By Camillus maybe? (Because the middle handle pin is off center)

You would be hard pressed to make me happier about this knife; you're the man Charlie! :)

I am pretty sure that is a later stamp, after WWII.

A big thank you to Charlie, for a generous gift of a good, traditional Barlow!

I would love to see more pile-side pen barlows! Here is an old case with long pull spear main and pile-side pen. Post 'em if you've got 'em!

afaik, only redbone and ebony pen behinds were made in the Charlow line, I favor them because they have the same configuration as my Case peanut, and pen behind solves he access issue, to low lying spear blades (and speys)

oh and here is one more 2 blade configuration with a pull both on the mark and pile side. In this case its the primary that has the pile side pull, so pen in front, but primary nick behind, unique:
