What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Here's some pile side pen barlows with a little bit different spearpoint blade profile, really nice long match-striker pulls, red sawbone covers, and deep bolster stamps... Gotta love those Cripple Creeks! Not to mention, they are probably some of the sharpest knives I've ever handled.

Phillll--that 3rd cut stag is amazing! So much more going on with that "grain" and color than ordinary bone. That handle looks fantastic, I can't wait to see more--it definitely has caught my interest.

I like the looks of match-striker pulls but I haven't tried one in person. How rough is the inside of the pull? Rough enough to mess up your fingernail?

Photobucket has what I consider a scam running.
When you paste in their IMG link it now also pastes in a URL link which takes people back to your Photobucket library.

Then when people browse your library, Photobucket informs you that your bandwidth has been exceeded because you're so popular that you should buy a membership

The solution to the problem is to look closely at the code that you're pasting in and delete the entire line that has the URL link and keep only the IMG link.

Here is your photobucket code, I added spaces to disable the link
[ URL =http ://s1204.photobucket.com/user/67nick1/media/CC_Barlow_red1.jpg.html]
CC_Barlow_red1.jpg
[ /URL]

this is the part you want to keep (without the added space after http )

I think you can fix it in your preferences. Click on your username in the upper-right corner, go to user settings. It brings up a faux-tab looking page. Click on the "Albums" tab, and uncheck the "link back to albums"

I did that some months back and the direct-paste-in URL no longer links back to my library.

Proof (and also barlow-content by way of my new Wostenholm):

That works! Excellent info, thanks. My solution was to switch photo hosts. Thanks for the option, and for posting pics, congrats on your new Wostenholm

Barlow content, from my photobucket with the linkback to album unchecked.. works great!

a couple more pile side pens

~P, there are Barlows with the pen blade behind the main. Case made many that way. These are 10-Dot (1970), but they did some well before, and also after these.
