What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

IMG_1368.JPG

You're killing me with that BBQ pic!!!!! :)

It is moments like this I feel blessed to live in the south. Though I'm sure the BBQ out west stacks up.

One of my favorite roosters, and much easier to get in and out of my pocket than those other two.

Beautiful, clean lines in a simple design with a variety of options for handle materials. Such as these two different takes on the single blade spear.

(The photo doesn't show off the cool swedge on the redbone, but I will keep working on the pictures.)

I love all these creative Barlow pictures!!
That's a patient Cat, Philll! I hope that Soup brings you lots of good luck, Dr. Scott. I hear they are also good for the common cold!!
;)

OK, trumpet fanfare please!! I finally get to announce the coming of the fifth and final knife in the premier long-pull series!! We have had the Spear, Clip, Sheepfoot and Spey.

Hopefully, these will make Good, Traditional Barlows!!
They will have deeply Sawcut bone handles, for one handed grip, and a hooked blade for one handed opening!!

This run will be dedicated to my Father-in-Law (RIP), who gave up an arm, among other parts of his health, in WWII, so we and much of the world could grow up relatively free,
and who produced a wonderful woman for me to spend my life with!!

Hear Hear! Charlie!! I raise a glass to Your Father-in-law and to all the vets who served their country; to your beautiful wife and to those good looking 1 handed Barlows!

Dave

I will have to get one of the razor Barlows to accompany my spey versions. The razor is one of my favorite blades, though my usage of them is very focused.

Special thanks to your FIL and all of the other men and women who proved freedom cannot be given; it can only be earned at great personal cost.
