What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Come on fellers, this is the BARLOW thread!

Sorry to have to correct you Jack but I think you'll find they're called beerlows these days.:D

Helping to get the thread back on track, here is a motley crew of Barlows.

The little guys are 2 3/4" and are Schrade Waldens!

The Russell is a hair over 5" long.

Oops, thanks Phil. I managed to forget all about the rosewood. Had me confused for a minute.

Yes it's Chechen Rosewood 2nd (really??), but as far as single Walnut clips go, keep your ear to the ground, maybe both ears!! I hear a rumble a-comin'!!:D

Never missing a chance to show off my babies... :D

I only have these two Barlows - but they complete me somehow, they're very dear favorites and I couldn't be happier or more impressed with them. :)

Both are single blade... One is a spey in African Blackwood and the other is a long-pull spear in jet-black Gabon Ebony...

We've been having a lot of hot weather lately, and some of my Barlows have gone to seed!

Maybe one of those buttons will be included with each Barlow on the next run, or maybe just one lucky person will get it. Like the golden ticket.

Those look like bottle caps, Charlie . . . did you have an SFO beer run produced? :D

Hmmmmm . . . . . . . .not a bad Idea!!

But no, they are buttons. GEC surprised me with them. They are for various uses at the Rendezvous. Some might fall into various shipments though - you never know!!;)
