What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Is that dings and scratches I see on the bolster of that ole wore out knife? I am going to check my coin drawer - someone stole my coins!

It is amazing how fond a knife lover gets of his/her knife when another knife lover expresses interest or makes an offer on it. :p

That is the sun shining on those shiny bolsters. The knife has never been carried or sharpened.

Old knives are my favorite. :D

Just pre-ordered the 2 blade in Red Bone. My first TC Barlow.
Now the wait begins!

You will not be disappointed. Only problem I have is that my TC Barlow is sooo nice, that I don't even want to use it. So I ordered another one from this run so now I will have a back up even though the scales and blades are different.

Barlows are meant to be used and not be tucked away in a drawer. I actually feel bad for any knife that sits unused and does solitary confinement.

I fully agree. All my knives are users although those that have been gifted or have special significance for me personally are treated more gently. Those that I intend to re-sell or trade are kept in their original condition/tube. Everything else gets into rotation for pocket duty. No solitary confinement in this house :D

Nuts! I unplug for one weekend and, of course, the Charlows are released that very weekend. Looks like I missed out on all of the single clip-point versions. (what a bummer...)

I'm going to pull this one out to carry tomorrow. A gift from the Barlow Master himself! Thanks Charlie ;)

Apparently there is no question as to what your favorite knife is Philllll. (cool tat btw)

I'm the same way. I don't keep them usually if they're not getting carried at least sometimes. That's why I keep the number of knives I have to a small rotation. They're fine precision tools and deserve to be carried and used, not sit on a shelf. That's just me.

I agree. I am actually a huge advocate of using my knives and I do use my barlow BUT it is quite nice so I am extra careful with it. Especially since I can't just go buy one immediately. It's funny because I am the one that actually preaches what you guys are saying lol.

Anyone have any photo's of their new Stew's Blade Barlows? I have some incoming but would like to see your pic's. Thanks.

They were rust red and chestnut. I think they're mostly sold out now, unfortunately.

Thanks. I picked up a single blade in Rust Red even though the color didn't call to me. I did not want to miss out. Hopefully on Thursday when I get it in hand I will be taken over by its beauty. :)

Is there such thing as black saw-cut bone? For some reason that is what I picture as perfect.

Nice knife philll. You might want to have your tattoo artist change your tat to a nail nick instead of the long pull. :D

Don't listen Phil - stick with that long pull tattoo - got to love it and the knife as well. :D

Wow, looks like I missed the boat on these while I was in the process of moving to Australia. If anyone has a lead on a 3rd Cut Stag one, I would greatly appreciate a PM or email.

Can't wait to see all the pictures of these.
