I'm not smart enough to make a video of the opening but I can provide a picture;)

I think a raid would be in order!

Jeff,

I can see the headlines now: Old man shot by police exiting post office . . . . . . was believed to be armed and very dangerous!
A police investigator later revealed that he had five knives on his person, one being a one arm razor!
Subject had black arm band with BF logo, believed to be member of cult.:D

Paul - that African Blackwood sure has a lot of nice color in it - I hope mine is half that purty. ;)

Thanks Primble, in the light it really is nice:thumbup:

Love that 3rd cut stag two blade clip Jeff...what a beauty;)

Thank you for the pic. It's the traditional version of the Wave! It also looks a lot more pronounced (deeper with sharper apexes) than on a lot of other models I've seen. Not bad, GEC. Not bad at all.

Beautiful Charlows, everyone!

Mine arrived in the mail today but I'm holding out until my birthday on Saturday to open them. This week has been hectic (grandkids everywhere) so I'm looking forward to locking myself away in my man-cave Saturday night and savoring the moment. Pics to come later.

I can't believe there are still a few Charlows available out there. How did you guys let any get away?

This one was waiting for me when I got home this evening. My first!

Looks like a beauty Bob!:)

Oh thanks a lot Joepa! I had a lunchmeat sandwich for dinner! Nice knife BTW.
Bob

Me too! :D:D:D

That sure is a tasty looking dinner Joe! Looks like Stew's Blade dug in for the best part too!:D

Don't know if it is the savory looking steak or the Stew's blade or maybe both that has suddenly caused my mouth to water. :D

You captured the color of that African Blackwood beautifully! I certainly hope mine turns out as nice.
And thanks for demonstrating the usage of that one-arm. I think I'm gonna be punching a couple of holes in my jeans trying that out!
Linus

Thanks, Paul, and Bob W., that jigged red bone really is a looker, and all three pins are spot-on for depth, too.

I don't eat like this every night.:D The just completed my last class for my Master's degree and it was a celebration dinner and the Barlow was a graduation gift.

The patina is already forming and I am loving my new barlow.

Congratulations on earning your Master's! That's something few of us can say we've accomplished.

Delicious pictures! That third cut surprises me every time.
I was worried that the red jig would be too coarse, but I like the way that looks also.
I've heard you can open the One-armed knives on your Jeans, but I use a table edge, or a door jamb, on the Case Barlow I have.
Can't wait to try out a Stew's!

^^^ having received a red jigged bone (2 blade) this evening...all I can say is INCREDIBLE! Love it. Pics to follow soon. ^^^

Thanks Linus:thumbup: the sun does the Blackwood justice...it really is rich in color. Capitalized mentioned the point/hook appears pointer then other takes on the blade shape and I agree but yet it's not sharp:confused:

What I really like is that I don't need a seam per se for me to open the blade. It actually grabs nicely on the jean material all by itself;)

I have read that these cutouts were designed to be opened on a belt loop. The few that I have work pretty well that way.

I know it is not THAT kind of razor, but I needed a background. :). I am very happy with my Rust Red Saw Cut Bone Stew's Blade. Can't wait to carry and use it tomorrow.
