What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Congratulations on earning your Master's! That's something few of us can say we've accomplished.
Bob
Thanks I appreciate that. It was a lot of hard work but it actually went by quickly :)

I know it is not THAT kind of razor, but I needed a background. :). I am very happy with my Rust Red Saw Cut Bone Stew's Blade. Can't wait to carry and use it tomorrow.

Nice. Same Barlow I received yesterday. I will be carrying mine as well today.

I see your into traditional/wet shaving. That also another interest/hobby of mine. Once I've went to a safety razor a few years ago, I never went back. I also within the past year or so have been using a straight razor which I really enjoy.

Stunning looking knives everyone - that Rust Red Saw Bone is hard to beat - but then again the Walnut is some of the best - Paul your African Blackwood is awesome - I see in the sunlight where you are demonstrating the one handed opening technique - it almost looks Walnut in that light!!
Whew Charlie - I am having trouble keeping up with the models coming up, its great seeing these come out - imagine being in new Zealand and having to wait ....:neglected:

Oldest boy just handed me a package in today's mail - my 3rd cut stag Clip Barlow. While the walnut was my 1st choice, I'm pretty impressed with the 3rd cut stag. Nice ivory color with a nice textured bark strip on both sides. I'm also liking it's something unique among my growing list of GECs in jigged bone, burnt stag, and wood.

Need to get it properly sharpened up first. With a nice knife such as this, the time sharpening is enjoyable. *Almost* like dancing with a beautiful woman. :)

Nice haul there Primble! Definitely wishing I would have snagged a 3rd cut stag one too now, oh well. Got my red jigged bone single blade today and it's awesome...so awesome I was able to locate another one and have it on the way now too....so one of them will definitely be going into carry duty and I'll probably keep the other one in reserve.

Ha! Was just browsing the GEC website and found a pic of my knife. Mine is the middle one. It's like I found a baby pic :)

I have noticed on the new Charlow tube label that, as pointed out by Sarah, the one-arm-razor Charlows have a boy with one arm and the clip-point Charlow tube labels have a boy with two arms and RED SNEEKERS. Charlie....you are one sneaky  I mean, clever guy! ;) :D

These sure are beautiful barlows! I just got a single clip blade with red jigged bone in the mail last night. Its my first single blade pocket knife and its just too skinny for my hands. I did sharpen it but I've never carried it nor cut anything with it. Would anyone be interested in trading me for a two blade model in jigged bone? If anyone is interested, please email me, or reply on the forum and we'll get ahold of each other.
Thanks
Ryan

There is one straggler that has not found his way home.

Thank you Duncan! I am star struck by Barry's (Gunstock Jack) fabulous work on the pocket slip. The Charlow slips in there nice and easy too. ;):)

I think the 3rd cut stag and the pocket slip are my favorites, followed closely by Stew's Blade!

Nice work on these by GEC, as usual!
