What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Well this one does in every way, shape and forum:thumbup: Ever since I was little, if I was outside playing I always came home dirtier than all of my friends---I have a knack of getting dirty---it's not that I'm not careful but when it comes to play or work I just get dirty:o

Last night I brought out my favorite knife of ALL time---my Clip/Pen Gabon Ebony Barlow---carried for over a year---EVERYDAY!!! I have never taken to any knife like I've take to this one. So my list off worked related things consisted of, on my back under my van (on gravel) of course using my Barlow to cut away some nylon Sisal that somehow became attached to the under carriage of my Van:thumbup:

Cutting caution tape to keep patrons out of an area I was painting above them, sliced the sheathing off some 12 gauge solid wire, reduce cardboard to fit in the recycle bin as well as some other light duty chores. So after cleaning my knife last night, oiling the joints she's back to her dirty ole self---oh well, nothing 10 minutes won't fix;)

By the way, this pales in comparison to Ed's #15 Tar knife:D

I am finally home, so I can post pictures - unfortunately everything I picked up at the Rendezvous is in the mail to me, since I could not carry it on the Airplane. But I have a few interesting knives to show off!

Thanks to everyone for showing your TCs! And for the vintage stuff, too!

You are keeping that knife in fine shape, Paul, if a little dirty!!

My Boys were both dirt magnets for many years. I understand that is why they are so healthy! Ya gotta eat a bushel etc, etc.

I hope most of the members here enjoy a good cartoon or two, every now and then, and if you don't, just let me know by PM and I will discontinue my fun. ;):D

Seems like a new Charlow announcement or a possible new Charlow announcement, nicks my funny bone, every time! :D

LOL! Great stuff guys. Welcome back Charlie, looking forward to seeing your haul

When I picked up the mail today, there was a surprise box in it! Opened and found this classic Keen Kutter, a gift from Primble! Beautiful old bone and definitely a classic, traditional barlow.

Thanks so much Primble! I am thrilled with the old girl!
