What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Well some would think that kind behavior strange but not me. I get it, Duncan! History can motivate us to delve into some pretty interesting research, or at least it did me. The deeper you go, the more you learn and the more knives you buy as a result. I remember the first I heard of the shell handled Hammer Brand and Imperial knives, this lead me to collect several and the displays as well. Later leading me all the way back to my first and only find of a NYKC HAMMER etched solid celluloid handled minty knife, finally, several years later.

Very  Perry, have we seen that knife at all?
thanks for the kind comments, and for your help in me being able to build a few more into my lot

Hey, happy to help in your hunt! I have posted it somewhere in the old knives thread,,,,somewhere. I apologize that I can't post a pic right now, my computer is be being worked on at the moment. I'll see if I cant find it.

Can't believe I actually found it but it's on page 255, bout half way down and in the pic with other cells, its in the lower right of the shot. Hopefully soon I can post a fresh pic of it opened.

I am in search of a beautiful Barlow and would greatly appreciate some help.

Welcome aboard. You almost found a good thread/source for your questions. Almost 354 pages of Barlow talking and chatting. But what in special is the help you are searching for?

Welcome JP. Might I ask what brought you in search of the Barlow? :)

Jack

I started collecting with my Grandfather when I was a kid and just recently picked up interest again after finding Great Eastern Cutlery. I absolutely love the quality and feel of their knives. As for the Barlow interest, my Grandfather had a few that he use to show me and my cousin ended up with them when he died. I don't remember what make they were just that I liked the weight of the big silver bolsters. The craftsmanship and attention to detail that Charlie and Bill put into these knives are spot on, even to a neophyte collector such as myself.

Jack - you have a real nice example of a soup Anniversary going on there my friend - just simply a beautiful knife

Wowwee Brian........ looking good there Mate!!

Jack that is a sweet one! Looks like mine. Apparently they were separated at birth???? ;0)

Thanks for the compliments Ron and Duncan. Here's the other side.
