What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Primble my friend, you have been on an EPIC TC Barlow journey as of late with tremendous results:thumbup: any tips or tricks of the trade are welcome...pm or email of course, we wouldn't want to bore fellow members with such trivial things:D

Primble nice job snagging that final spear point to complete that part of your collection. You sure seem to have quite the knack for tracking down those Barlows.

Thank you Paul and Curtis. The credit should mostly go to the great members here on the forum. ;)

Paul - my luck runs in random streaks, it seems. ;);):D

Might as well post my other arrival for the day, the tan jigged bone single blade sheep foot for my sheep farm. :D

I have an African Blackwood sheep on the way, then I am going to have to chill out for a while - then I can figure out a new sig line. :o:D

One of these days you'll have to show the whole sheepbang! Now that would something to see Primble!

I second that Perry! I would love to see those choice TC Barlows photographed like only Primble can do it.

Let's move these TC's out of the way for a moment... I got in the Davison barlow! And for good measure, how about our own Esnyx's mammoth beerlow! Thank you to both of these guys for the fine craftsmanship.

...and now back to our regularly scheduled program! Awesome pictures guys. Congrats Primble on completing your quest!

What beautiful knives, Jake! Those both look like good, traditional Barlows to me! Even if the handles are a bit on the fancy side. I think I could stare at those all day!

Boy I have been staring at these Barlows incessantly for a few days straight, and then you had to throw a beerlow in the mix. One of these days I'll bight the bullet and pick one up second hand, or better yet get in line when they are being produced. I always seem to just miss the dates.
Oh well, if I got every knife I wanted I would be one broke man...

WOW Jake!!!, both are true beauties:thumbup:

I've been after this one for a while now---My preference is two blade versus Single but take enjoyment from either:thumbup:

Thanks for the positive comments gents. Paul, I love that smooth bone. I didn't think I'd be a fan until I picked up a fremont in that handle material. I sent it down the road but it left me with an appreciation for that material and I will definitely own another knife with it.

With all of the new barlows, especially expensive ones, that make the appearance in this thread my memory of barlows came from my grandfather. Growing up helping on his farm, he always had a supply of the cheap barlows he'd get at the parts stores or as promo items from fertilizer and feed companies. That's exactly why he loved them. He'd break them, lose them, give them to us to do the same and at the end of the day, he'd just grab a new one out of the wicker basket in the back pantry and it became his next pocket companion.

3 weeks ago I didn't own a traditional...

And I just can't wait to receive what's coming in the mail next. :)

Until then, here's my stable of TC's. I need 3 more for a week's rotation.
