Those look great, Charlie! The fact that your blade mark is so unique and has that connection to your ancestral home, makes it very special in my view. Congratulations!

Yes, well done Charlie  They all look pretty incredible. The scratted bone looks great, and I'd be interested to know more about how it was done, but all three knives look superb. Congratulations, my friend, they are really special

I really like the "low grade" ebony covers shown there. A good amount of variety to match the 'antiquity' of the bolster and blade.

Here is the lineup of the "Ancients"!

They should be in the hands of the usual BF member dealers in 2-3 weeks:

Dang! I can't make the GEC Rendezvous so I guess I'll hafta wait to get my hands on these beauties. Super job as usual, Charlie, and I'm lookin' forward to a long CE&CF session with 'em. :D

I finally got time to sit down and catch up on the Barlow thread. I have to say the new versions are my favorite so far. I really want one of those scratted TC'S!

Charlie, thank you for all you do for the knife community. Wonderful new additions to an epic line of knives.

Chris

Elephant ivory as handle material i think would be a good fit. I have a few and have seen many more, old Sheffield 'work' knives from i think around mid 1800's with ivory handles, now a deep yellow-orange color. By 'work' knife, i mean just that, for work, not the fancy dress pocket knives which also had ivory handles.
Was ivory ever scratted ?

That scratted bone is fabulous. Unfortunately I will have to pass on these, major dental work going to be done so no funds for these beauty's .

Hehe scratted bone here I come. These went in the blink of an eye.

On a segue for everyone.

I acquired today something I thought I never would have. A TC Barlow Spearpoint PPP in antique amber sawcut bone. In thanks to Jake/Supranetorial for giving me such a great deal on it.
This one is special to me in more ways than one due to the fact that after some digging in this thread from start to finish, these were made in December, this one possibly even constructed on my birthday 12/12 (or so I'll pretend/hope ;) ) Beautiful knife for one of the first TC barlows, and now to get in line for one of the barlows that Charlie was inspired by to send to GEC for the construction of the first ones..well two birds in one stone :D :D

What a fantastic idea Charlie, I love the stamped blade with the Trinacria in the middle, the scratted bone, hammered pins and authentic period barlow blade. I have loved these Ancient Barlow's since you posted them the first time and had to look up the ones on the Arabia Steamboat (I think that is the name) not to mention all the history posted here by our very knowledgeable members. I know I will never find a very good specimen (or afford it) but these Ancient Barlow's are just awesome, like having one back in the beginning days of Barlow design. I picked up a not so great specimen of an S.E. Oates & Sons that may be re-pinned and or re-covered but I love it just the same. Sorry for re posting it here.

Congrats on finding that antique amber TC Genuine Barlow Tim. One of my favorites:D (Some day haha)

Thank you Dave, I've had alot of luck and generousity in finding some great knives since being here. Nice photo of that 'not so great specimen' aha.
