What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

The spearpoints are elusive, but, maybe a sig line might help. ;):)

That or a belt sander :D

Cheehoo (Hawaiian pidgen way of expressing excitement) I see you took the plunge. Literally ;) Looks great Mark :)

Tim, my friend you have some great TC's in your collection and some equally great stories with them:)

I missed out on seeing this when I responded to some comments Ron, apologies. Thank you kindly, the stories that come with some of my prized knives make them all priceless to me and will never leave. :)

I see the Amber and the Saddle, can I see the Rust Red? It's my current grail. :D

Huh ??? Your grail !!! :eek::eek::confused::confused::confused:

You already have one of every clip ever made Fred. You at the bar or something ? ;):D

OK - red it is. ;)

Since Primble is only posting photos of the reds today, I can only assume the "lower left beauty" must be on it's way!:D:D

Thank for the compliments on my Barlow, folks! Sorry it took me so long to reply, I just got home from vacation with the family!

Ancient Parchment Bone (boiled to the bone) Charlie taught me how. ;):D:

Thank you again for the TC CC.

Roberto your knife looks good but my eyes are drawn immediately to the two shiny pins on the handles. I know they are nickle/silver and not steel and you can't tone them down........or can you? Just thought you would like my input. If not, I'm sure I'll hear about it.;):D

Rob, the boiling gives it an authentic ancient Barlow look. Well done.

Thank you Bob. :)

Good call Mark, but, I had already dulled the shiny pins and bone down quite a bit. They are not that shiny indoors, etc. A camera has a hard time dealing with exact highlights and the angle of the pic makes a difference, also sky - not near as capable as the eye. Knife looks better in person than the pics reveal. ;):D

Two gifts from a local friend, and two from Rendezvous time!
Thanks Gary, for the Imperial and the Schrade - Very nice ones!!

I am ever grateful to you, Rob, for that amazing and rare Southington!
And the aged Furness with French Ivory came from one of the crowd at the Rendezvous! For the life of me, I can't remember who!! Please help me out here - I talked to so many people, my old brain has momentary CRS (Can't Remember Shoot!)!!

All are greatly appreciated, and all influence future Barlows, rest assured!!

That Furness was from my little goodie bag, Charlie! I'm glad you're keen on it! :D

Thanks Jack! It just seemed much more at home amongst its relatives in Charlie's display cases! :D

My updated TC collection. As far as Ancients go...the Ebony Ancient ended up being my favorite followed very closely by the smooth parchment bone.

Love the knives.
