And why not: full collection

Let's see: I want one of those, and that one, and certainly those two. Quite a collection, Gus!

Just let me know when you want me to take those Sawcut spearpoints off your hands. :)

Wow, Gus! Hands down, that is the most impressive thing I've seen on bladeforums.com.

Simply amazing.

Thanks, everyone! Couldn't have gotten this far without a lot if help here. I should point out there are many who have all or almost all of the whole run; my pile looks big, but it's less than a quarter of what's out there!

Very nice Gus  Bet you had to stand on a chair to take that pic! :D

It looks better at your house, Ron!!:D

Thank you Charlie! This old Ulster feels right at home in my pocket! :D

Ron, agree with Gev, Charlie gave you a nice Barlow, nice pic also.

Thank you John! I almost bought one of those Skate Key Barlows at Queen when we were at the rendezvous. Great stag on that one!

Ron, that bone has some amazing character!

Thanks Erik, it's a nice old Barlow. :D

Great knife Augie love that stag and the skate key.

Nice Barlow! But Mabel is a Queen too!
Never let her see such a thing :

she would believe it as Duna did (sadly missed since last year october)

Thank you Old Bowie, the stag on this one has a very nice feel to it also.

Thanks Jolipapa, too late, Mabel already knows she is the Queen, sorry for your loss of Duna, the little monsters really grow on you.

Nice line ups Wundergussy and Jordanlh

Here is an IXL Barlow I managed to get few weeks ago. The main problem is its shiny blades, though I can't decide if they are buffed and then it is a real problem, or just good condition (less likely but the stamps are deep and the blades are full), the minor problem is that the main blade was broken and modified to an odd drop point shape, which I modified to a spey (I prefer it this way). Anyway the springs are strong, iron bolsters and pins, nice sawed bone and heavy look and feel.

That's gorgeous, Gus!

Is that the only TC with the tube that talks about kids going out in nature to play?

I can't wait to add one of these to my collection. TheApostleP read the back of the tube on Youtube and it resonated strongly with me because I have a two year old son.

I'm for sure going to have to get my first Barlow, can you guys point me in the right direction of a good solid working single blade? Thanks a ton. :)

I haven't had a ton of time to visit this thread but the TCs were the reason I even found the forum. I remember how excited I was to find my first one on the exchange here last March. Something special about these knives.. they just call to you. Amazing collection Gus! Love the website Charlie. Looking forward to what's next

Hey Thanks Mike

Yes that's a fine example Mike. I would say that it looks like a mild buffer trip - one side's bolster has a more worn down set of stamps and as you say the blades are bright. Probably there was light pitting on the bolsters. It could just as likely be a rag clean up job, previous owners might have liked to keep their knives that way, not everybody relishes patina (nascent rust...) But so what? It's a really decent old example, that bone is really BARLOW and a bit of your own use and carry will age it very exceptionally too. Any real Barlow fan would be very anxious to get that knife.

Derek, you make a really valid point too. That Russell of yours is just the ticket!

Thanks, Will

Thank you Derek, can't agree with you more. This Barlow is riding my pocket right now after giving it decent sharp. The Schrade and Russel Barlows are great looking, you should be proud heaving them.

Will, I agree with you, previous owner must have worked on the knife, I believe with fine sand paper as the blade have plenty of light scuffs that can't be seen in the photos, but I like the knife and am using it, so a bit of history in my pocket.
