What Makes a Good, Traditional Barlow?

Very nice knives Harry and MJ, I posted this before but I think it worth to show an older member to the TEW family here. Quality knives by all means

Mike

That's a beautiful knife Mike. Thanks for sharing. My father has an Eye Witness that he has carried from new for about 60 years. From memory it has a clip and a sheepsfoot blade. I'll track it down and post a photo in coming days.

Thanks for the kind remarks Mike and thanks for the picture of the older TEW . I really like the stamping on the blade and am wondering what handle material is on the knife .

Harry

Those are some beautiful TEW Barlows you fellows are sharing. Thanks!

Duncan - That is a stunning Forum Barlow my friend! I would agree that it was definitely worth the wait! :D

Harry the handles are some kind of artificial material, can't say exactly. One of the only 3 knives with artificial handles on o those is... Yes ... another TEW knife kindly gifted to me by Jack

Just pulled this one out a few days ago and found myself admiring it all over again. It's a second I bought from Barry and why its a second I have no idea.

Flawless bone covers, both blades centered and Solid with perfect pulls. If I had to guess, I'd say the blade etch to be a bit low? Now that was a stretch right there because in all reality, there is NOTHING wrong with the Barlow. I know the picture of the blade etch is out of focus but there's nothing wrong with its placement.

Just happy to own this one:thumbup:

Flawless covers indeed, Paul. That TC is gorgeous!

Atiger, have you posted a group photo of your entire vintage Barlow collection? My new PC could use a background image. :D

Whew!!!
That is a beautiful knife there Paul. Man that Jigging has got it going on!!:)

Agreed! Wow! That has some of the best coloring of all the 2015 Sheepsfoot TC's I've seen.

Flawless covers indeed, Paul. That TC is gorgeous!

Thanks Duncan, Bob and Shawn I appreciate your comments. If all's seconds are like this I will be buying a lot of seconds:D

Paul - That's a nice one for sure! I have two single blades from Barry, both are 2nds. If you can find anything wrong with the Tan you are a better inspector than I am. The Antique Yellow has a case of "Ragg Bone". I guess you could say it had Ragg Bone before Ragg Bone was cool! Just like you I am proud to own these two also. :D
