Apologies for not posting a green barlow on Saint Patrick's Day - just don't have one.

(Edited to add: Sorry, I just realized that I had already posted this knife on February 23rd. Gotta keep a list.)

The Fort The Fort I do carry it, either alone in its "own" pocket or in a slip. I like to share it with some of the regulars at our local hardware store or with my buddies having afternoon drinks. But not often, as my EDC barlow's are Imperial, Sabre, and, particularly, Queen ( of which I have several). I only have two of the 009's (both shown above).

I'm glad to hear that it gets it's due time, Stuart. It's too nice to keep tucked away somewhere.

Two Queen Bicentennial Commemorative Barlows (one still in its birthing plastic wrap). As can be seen, they are from 1976 and 5" closed (granddads). The covers are black synthetic with an inlaid historic Bennington flag shield. The one in plastic is serial # 645, the open one is # 670 of 15,000. I would apologize for the reflection of my cellphone and me in the blade and bolster, but the dark shading actually helps the blade etch to stand out.

This posting exhausts my modest melange of Queen barlows. The Case 62009 1/2 posted above was the last of my Case barlow supply. I'll look to see if I have anything else (otherwise, gotta buy more, I guess).

Nice Barlows Stuart!! Thanks for showing them - nice Queen tribute!
Here comes an anti-Queen; actually anti-SafeQueen idea!!
Well, I am thinking about doing a second generation Ancient Barlow. I'd like to make it a little Gnarlier than the last one. My idea is to make a knife that no one has to keep pristine; to lock the Queen away into a tower/safe!! Yet it will look as it should with some respectful usage!
Here are some pictures of 100-plus year old Barlows, which I took to study the traditional blade shapes. None of them are mint of course, but if you have one or more with a pretty full blade , please help me out and post it here!!
The bottom knife was the inspiration for the first "Ancient". I am hoping for a variation on a spear for this one, but any blade is interesting!! Thanks!!

Charlie, great post! I would like to see a spear but maybe run the swedge the whole length of the blade like these old ones, maybe with a stove pipe kick.

I would also see if GEC is willing to give rag bone another chance, maybe they can get more rag in it this time,

I REALLY like how this is progressing. Stellar suggestions! (Now I need a moment alone to compose myself.)

I'm excited to hear that Charlie, I like John's idea's and IF possible a deep blade stamp/etch:)

I like the idea of a full length swedge! But the blade stamp is too hard to do with the other heat treating necessary. We'll have to figure it out for the future, but this one will have an etch based on my first "guild" stamp seen on the first Ancient.
It's going to be a great knife!
