I dont have a "lawful" reason to carry my Swiss Champ on the streets of Melbourne Victoria, so today it will be left in my hotel room.

Thanks mate. We just took a tram to get the train to a train museum to look at trains, the rail adventure continues.

It's easy for me to choose which whistle to carry, which SAK is another story. I only keep some on display here, it makes the decision a bit simpler that way.
I figure my cheap plastic whistle must be a rarity. I can't find but OD Green ones anywhere on-line. No orange ones anywhere.
Oh, and the Evolution Grip 18 that is missing from the top shelf has been on my hip the last few days.

After a day on the train im glad to be in our next accommodation.
Having the compass clipped to my watch is the best thing I ever did for city navigation. I never get lost in the bush... put me in amongst huge buildings and im lost after 3 steps out of the hotel.

A Victorinox 85mm Evolution Grip 18 made a worthy companion yesterday as I trail-tested my latest Bebb's Willow stick. A sunny, 60°F day in January is nothing to sneeze at in West-Central Illinois. I named this hiking/saunter stick Folger because I stained the tip using the coffee grounds from the day when I got to that point. It's Folgers all the way for me. I only wish I could buy regular grind and perk my coffee again. Over a campfire would simply be a bonus.
Oh wait, that's not my only wish. I do wish this knife came with a small blade in place of that silly fingernail file. That's what rocks were made for.
Note: This Evolution 18 will be on my hip once more today.
