What slipjoint knifes are you Carrying today?

I find myself carrying this old and worn out Case 6235 1/2 quite often. As you can see the green bone is almost slick and the blades have seen heavy use. This was back when Case made a knife as a working tool, now they are more into collectables.
Take Care

Yesterday and today, a PJ Tomes single blade Trapper.

Got to quit hanging around you.

Yesterday and today a small single blade Tomes lockback and a larger Carson lockback that is my constant EDC no matter what else I am totin'.:) Kit made that for me a while back and surprised me with it and although some folks think I am crazy for using it, I just can't see leaving it in a safe.

Other knives that frequently find way into my pockets.
6383 whittler '71 (like waynorths. I love that pattern too!)
an equal end Pen made in the very early 1900's - picked up for under 10 bucks. This knife walks and talks better than the majority of brand new multiblades.)
Tang stamp on it is Electric Knife Company.

Picked up from Tomes from Thomason.:D

Gotta break down and pick up a digital SLR one day.

Here's one I just got,it is brand new.One of the pen blades, and the main blade, has been sharpened,I have no box for this knife.Today, was the first day,for the pocket.

You called it BR, it's a 3dot 6383, so 1977. Still in my pocket today. Swell center ballon whittlers, are so shapely, and pocketable. I have a bunch of safe queens, but I'm not sure I don't love this one the best!

Geez, that knife may only have another fifty years of useful life!;)

Is that a split backspring whittler Vince?

Waynorth,It's got two backsprings, with the tapered swedge, what's that make it? I just call it,a really nice one!

Been using this fella lately. It was one of A.G. Russel's. 3 1/2" closed. Fits the pocket pretty easy. Holds an edge reasonable well and is just cool as hell. Other than this guy, I will have a Bulldog "Cuttin' Horse" sowbelly or my Obenauf model 3.

It's the better version of a split backspring. There are three kinds of split backspring, in terms of difficulty to make; easiest, is where the springs are parallel, then like yours, where they are wedged apart. The hardest and rarest is where there's no wedge, but the springs themselves are ground to a taper. In all cases they are considered a test of a cutlers ability!
Nice looking knife!

That looks like a split backspring too, Greg! Mind showing us the springs?

Ah,I see.Thank's for the info,and compliment,Waynorth!I have a couple of Queen #48's,and a Moore Maker made this way,and a Crandall,with the parallel method.

Nice one Amos! What size is this one?

Thanks. The Boker is the 5464 and is 3 5/8 in. or so. This is the one that Boker sent me to replace the smaller HH that had such weak springs. I was very happy with the replacment. The blades are carbon steel too.

Almost forgot. Today it was this one again.

The backside front bolster has discolored a bit due to it being on the inside of the pocket next to my sweaty leg. I may have to polish it up sometime and put a coat of clear laquer or hairspray over the bolsters to keep em shiny. I guess you could say this is my go to town knife.

Nothing embarrasing about carrying a good, solid working knife! I know if I see someone pull out that yaller soddie jr I'm just gonna figure he knows a good knife that's a fine carry. Nuttin wrong with a good hawkbill either.

I carry a yellow sodbuster more than any other, ahgar! A fine choice, ready to do many a cutting chore!!

Well it doesn't exactly fall into the category of traditional pattern slipjoint but this is what I carry most often.
