What slipjoint knifes are you Carrying today?

I'm back to my old Case swell center whittler today; the one I used to open this thread. Used it to open my mail, and carefully separate wine labels, which were printed in strips. I made some Zinfandel from California grapes in Sept. '05, and I'm just finishing the bottling process. 110 bottles, and it's aging nicely; gonna be great by next year!!

I be carrying my old SAK as usual in my left pocket. Mainly I use this one for the tools other than the blade but I've always carried it so it stays there. Then in my right pocket I be carrying one of my all time favorites knives. The Scagel Repro by Northwoods redone for me by my good friend and fellow moderator on our forum over at the KF> Dirk Potgieter, AKA Oupa.

Great knife. I love the fact that Dirk did the scales on his redo in some of Bill Scagel's personal stash of lignum vitae wood from Dave Shirley who owns the rights to Scagel's trademark among several other things that were Bill's. I think John Cable provided Dirk the wood though because he has most of that. If you slippy lovers ever get the chance to acquire one of the limited number of these or the following Scagel repros that Northwoods did grab it. They are gems let me tell you. I also grabbed up three more of these redone ones from Dirk recently. In fact everyday I look for two of them to arrive here shortly.

Here are some pics of one I have coming. The two pictured here used to be two blade models that Dirk took apart and remade into thinner single blade knives. Personally the two blades are great but they are far to big in the pocket for my taste so these thinner ones are great.

You can see the other two I got at this link if interested. I understand Dirk will have two others up for grabs here shortly. http://www.knifeforums.com/forums/showtopic.php?tid/775695/

p.s. I count John Cable as a friend! Good Guy!

well my yellow handled sodbuster jr got evicted due to a new knife from my wife.
it's a little case 6318 in green bone, not something i'd have picked but it's starting to grow on me. i was very impressed with the quality out of the box, almost scary sharp and the fit and finish is outstanding. the green bone is actually starting to grow on me also. only problem is i miss my sodbuster, dang it too little time, too few pockets and too many knives. well i guess it's a good problem to have. later, ahgar

Well, back at work so today it's my Kniessler

Don't worry, I decided to pocket my yaller soddie jr today. I carried the now regular Queen jack early this AM as I did the last four hours of third shift. Now that I'm at home I decided to slip the soddie into my watch pocket and Western 062 Hunter on my belt.

Canal St Muskrat , it's been in my pocket everyday since I got it a couple of months ago . I was going to get the Congresss model that day , but this one just did it for me on the day .

Paul.

Another Schrade fan here. after reading this thread switched my carry today to a OT medium stockman.

Canal Street Cutlery has become the new benchmark for quality!!

STR, that's a GREAT version of the UKPK!

Do you mind if I share it on British Blades? Several of us have been talking about getting ones that look more SAK, less Tac. ;)

FreezerGeezer, I don't mind. As I said to the guy I did that for though its going to take some arm twisting to get me to do another one like that. It was a hard one to do. The tolerances have to be spot on or the whole project would have been for naught.

Waynorth. I forwarded your post to Dirk.

Ah, good old thread, back again! Some threads never die, like my old Case yellow CV sodbuster, which has found its way back into my RF pocket! For a couple of weeks now, accompanying my serrated Camillus go-to-the-P.O. knife, which is always in my watch pocket! Yellow knives rule! Bone in the bank; Cell in the safe, but yellow in the pocket!!

New one for me. Arrived thursday and hit my pocket friday.
