What sort of Job do you have?

i'm an assistant parts store manager as well as a volunteer firefighter, so my knives get a real workout. i'm never with out one.

Retired UK police constable.

I served for 30 years in a small police force, my career distinguished only by its lack of distinction.

My terminal gratuity paid off my mortgage, and we moved to the Isle of Skye off the northwest coast of Scotland.

I now live in delicious idleness, supported by a fairly generous pension and the labour of a young wife.

I carried a SAK for most of my service, and found it invaluable.

Now I carry pretty much what I damn well like, when I like.

I am in sales now as I mentioned, I had a South African customer recently looking for some new equipment and we were negotiating a price, during the small talk I asked what he did before he came to Oz and got into the Trucking game.
He said "I hunted Lions" I nearly fell off my chair, he was a game warden in a wildlife park in SA and had to chase down Lions that had become aggressive or dangerous.
I gave him a good deal

I am a former U.S. Army Ranger (1st Battalion 75th inf.) and Paratrooper (2 Battalion 504 Parachute Infantry Regiment). A veteren of "Operation Just Cause" and "Desert Storm". After finishing college (Social Science degree) I took a ride-a-long with my brother who was at the time a Garland, Texas Policeman. Didn't like the idea of a Law Enforcement carreer so I became a craftsman at a fixture company. I take yearly trips to South America and Europe with my wife and son, looking for adventure and possibly a new career. In another post about what we forum members do, I said "Soon to be a Professional Adventurer." I'll be debt free within the next five to ten years and then, beacause of time and money, I'll be able to fullfill my dream career.

I'm a philosopher with a bit of scientist and engineer mixed in for good measure. I'm currently paid to study. It's a sweet gig.

I am the public works director for a city in south Florida (20 years) I also teach martial arts.

Kris, is that the blue company, or the red company? If it's the red one, I worked in AP for a while last year here in Calgary.

IF the Red one has the NOV initials then yes that is where I work;)
Actually tomorrow is my last day in Edmonton- I get to move to Nisku starting Mon.:jerkit:

I operate a Nitrogen Pumper truck for a large well service company in Alberta. We use pressurized nitrogen gas to clean out wells, coil tubing and propel fracturing fluid during well fracturing. I was trained on the job, and make decent money. I'm not from Alberta though, so being away from my fiance for 2 weeks at a time kind of wears on me. Before this I worked at a major agricultural implement manufacturer, I did a little of everything, paintline, fabrication, forklift, assembly. Before that I worked at a grain terminal as a facility assistant and before that I was a deckhand on a commercial fishing boat for five years. I got into knives while fishing, very useful. I still use my knife everyday for cutting tape, rope, zipties, etc.

I am the office services supervisor for an Insurance company. This is my 18th year. My EDC changes daily, but I always have my SUBCOM. I open a lot of packages during the day. No one says anything when I pull one out. They know that I am harmless.

I'm a tattoo artist/tattoo shop manager, piercing studio owner and a dad to a five year old boy;we both love our knives! for hunting, fishing, working around the house or chipping ice off the truck the past couple of days.

Banker. My blades scare my coworkers. I usually have at least a 7 inch fixed blade in my desk drawer just for fun. I use my CRK Mnandi for pretty much every cutting related task that comes up during the workday though.

I actually do two different jobs for a group of doctors. I start at 7am as a courier. I transport sample blood/urine and documents between 5 different offices. This averages out to 163 miles per day. By noon I am back at the home office. There I work as a receptionist/office clerk until 2pm. Sometimes I get overtime and work till 4pm.

old partial disabled vet now working in a Corporate safety and security monitoring station. I operate cameras for our 200 retail stores to check up on employees and burglar/ fire alarms and dispatch authorities when needed.

Monitor the alarms in those 200 stores as our own alarm company also. Largest privately owned liquor stores in America. Stores only in Florida.

Company and store name is first 3 letters of the alphabet!

I dabble in the martial arts and the analysis of the human psyche. How knife collecting got into the mix...I have no clue...but I fear the answer.......;)

30 years in a patent law firm as a patent agent, now semi retired and working part time at a Woodcraft store where i've enjoyed teaching a couple beginning carving classes. I've carried a pocket knife since i was old enough to open the blade, cut myself countless times whittling sticks. For the last year or so i've been carving and selling crochet hooks (yeah, i hear the snickers) but i don't crochet, ok?
Interesting to see what a vast variety of careers there are here.
I use a pocket knife daily, kitchen knives daily, axes every chance i get for thinning and splitting wood on my place up in the sticks here in NE Washington state.

Been driving truck for about 26 years.. Log truck, dump truck, long haul, and auto transport. Raised around it. My grandfather and his brothers started logging in the 30's and did it for over 40 years... I also built race cars and show cars, really enjoyed that but it doesn't always pay real well... About 2 years ago I messed my arm up and can't do heavy physical work like I used to, so its time for a career change. We have 2 companies here in Oregon that build small private jets and I'm going to try to get into that..

Hello, I graduated college half a year ago and now I am a mass spectrometrist at a medical school, screening people for genetic disorders.
I don't get to use my knives very much on the job but since I work in a lab, every so often they are useful.
