What Spyder is 'the One' for you?

I carry my calypso jr everday.I would be lost without it.I like the para military when I'm doing some heavier knife work.

My 10 year old Delica was my first real knife. Even though it's been abused to the point where it's looser than a drunk cheerleader on prom night, I cannot bear the thought of losing it.

Picked up a Harpy today. Wow. I can't believe I waited this long. Great knife so far...can't stop playing with it!

My EDC is a PE aluminum Salsa. I could live with the AUS-8 blade steel, but it would be perfect if Spyderco made a VG-10 version. However, based on the information provided by Sal, the updated Salsa 2 will come with a 440C blade steel. *sigh*

Mine are Manix alternated with Lil' temperance. All depends on if I want to go big, or small that day. :D

What's wrong with 440C? It's a little hard to sharpen, but I've never had a problem with it. My old Buck 110 is still going strong after 32 years (I've had it for 18 years and the blade is still intact and it's been used hard).

I don't see a problem with Spyderco using 440C.

For me, my absolute favorite one has to be the Zowada. Smooth, dagger-like, and elegant. But, I usually tote my VG-10 Herbst. A great one for the price, not too large, not too small, and the ergos are great.

I went through a few Enduras when I worked offshore, but the last few years the Starmate has done all I need it to.

I’m sure there’s nothing wrong with 440C, but I would like to experience the phenomenal properties of VG-10 in my “perfect” EDC.

Manix hands down. I don't carry it to the office (for some obvious reasons), but i walk tall with it on the weekends. I just love that G-10 and big S30V glade. Fits my paw perfectly.

Harsh question... I'd say my Paramillie, perfect size for me, I even carry it more often than my Native...

Agony,

I also use a really old Delica, I love your quote :D

"Even though it's been abused to the point where it's looser than a drunk cheerleader on prom night"

I love my Persian, but never carry it. I guess that, until I get the replacement clips for my 3 older Enduras (old red, Big Red, and OD) and my older blue Delica, it would be my new Native II in S30V. I hope I never wear off the "Golden Colorado USA Earth", but if I do, I'll be forced to get another. Q-do any other Spyderco's have this printed on them?
Thanks,
---Tom

I would have t say the Calypso Jr. grey.

My Endura FRN CE is often there also as EDC (althought lately replaced by the Cara Cara because I want to keep the Endura sharp for my evening walks),but, usually, not matter what I'm carrying, the Caly Jr. is always there just because it's more sheeple friendly.

At the moment, I'd have to say my toad, as it is the only spyderco I own. Have just ordered a ss kiwi though, and I can see that being a keeper, fantastic lines and a VG10 blade. Quite large enough for those of us in the UK

SLick - the titanium handled salsa already comes with an ATS34 blade for those wanting an uprated one...
