What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Better keep an eye on that whittler, or might be tempted to swipe that shield.😗

I bought a 294 jack from that same anniversary series that’s missing the shield. I don’t know what that shape of shield is called, but it kind of looks like a mortar projectile.
Forewarned is forearmed, Jeff! 😲 🤓
I think we've actually discussed that shield before. I've heard it called a "bollocks shield", but I usually call it a "chess queen". Who wants to admit to a dangling scrotum on their knife?? o_O

I’m going to see if Manny will eat apples. I cook up chicken breast to mix in his food and try to mix in some veggies too. As long as the vegetables are mixed with meat or a little fat, he’ll eat them.
Our dogs (well, we only have one left now) get frozen vegetables microwaved and mixed in with their kibble every night. There's a regular schedule: broccoli on Sunday and Wednesday, carrots on Mon/Thur, green beans on Tues/Fri, and peas on Sat. And Gandalf always gets a dollop of organic pumpkin in his evening bowl. Plus they come running when they hear the fridge open, hoping they can beg some raw baby carrots or cauliflower or bell pepper.

Red is always a good color.

Four pockets, four knives. Actually have more pockets cause I'm wearing overalls. Nice and comfy;)

Really loving the color of this new Case 75. The stag on the Henkel is outstanding also.
Congrats on the new Case stockman, and I totally agree on the "outstandingness" of that stag Henkels!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

No hat and all cattle, Steve! 😁

Carrying my grandfathers knife on the anniversary of his death, looking forward to deer season and the memories that come this time of year!
Great tribute to your grandfather!:cool::thumbsup:

Have a great weekend everyone  Having a Double Lambsfoot Day! :D ;)
...
Lambsfoot blades in common, but otherwise a lot of variety in that pair, Jack!:cool::cool:

A couple of gifts arrived yesterday, so I've got this White Bone Boker Barlow in my watch pocket. Thank you, @Fixall It's most generous of you.
...
Also, this Schrade Florist from @greatscoot ! It's going to be the subject of an experiment: if I can get ink to adhere properly to Delrin, that would really expand my options for scrimshaw knives.
...
Thank you very very much, guys!
Congrats on the gift knives, Rachel, and kudos to the generous givers!:thumbsup::cool:

We’re leaving shortly for Georgia. Going to pick up our three granddaughters, and spend the week in a rental cabin up near Blue Ridge. Looking forward to it.
...
I hope you and yours have a superb week together, Jeff!:thumbsup: 🤓

I grew up in a house full of lawyers, professors, and proofreaders. I can't help it, I like fancy words. (and Oxford commas) 😄😆
I see what you did there, and I'm with you! 😁:thumbsup: IIRC, at some point the college where I worked decided (in the institutional "style guide") that the Oxford comma should be avoided, but "reversed the decision" several years later. (How could it be otherwise??)

That IS a very pretty blue Gary. 😎👍
Great looking trio Gary !
Beautiful Lamb, GT. 🤠
Terrific trio Gary :) It's funny, but I always think of your wife and daughter, as well as Gary Peregrin Peregrin Peregrin Peregrin , each time I visit York :)
Amazing trio of knives, Gary.👍;)
Nice selection of knives today, Gary. I don’t see those mini copperheads too often, but I’ve always thought they look like a cool little knife. 👍
Thanks for the encouraging words, Todd & Steve & John & Jack & José & Sacto Sacto ! :)

Has @SteveC ever posted an ugly knife? I think not.
...
Totally agree, Jon! Steve's vintage bone folders are incredible!:thumbsup::cool:

Toting some stag with a bunch of blades. :)
...
67% more blades than the average stockman!! 😁:thumbsup: Love your 5-blade Bulldog, JJ!

Rough Rider canoe and a Case 47 whittler in the pockets today. It'll be all fixed blades for me this coming week as I head to the Northwoods tomorrow for a hunt with a couple of Mich. friends. We'll get plenty of exercise tromping around the forest along the beautiful Au Sable River and will eat well around the campfire each night. Bringing plenty of groceries though as game is sparse where we're going,..... at least that what we tell ourselves when we have no luck. :)

I carry today this Böker Barlow in oak wood of Castle Burg.

Glorious knife, José! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Carrying my 2019 Guardians Lambsfoot SFO (Lucy), and my Abbeydale Jack

A couple of my favorites from your holdings, Jack!:cool::thumbsup:

Thanks Gary. It is a pretty neat knife. I like the rooster's head too.
I'm thinking of giving it to my youngest son. He and his wife recently built a chicken coop, and are now enjoying the eggs that are the fruits of their labors. One of their hens turned out to be a rooster. They awoke one morning to his crowing. Of course he's no longer a resident of the coop.
...
Thanks for the follow-up, Gary; that would be a cool gift for your chicken-raising kids!:cool::cool:

Good Sunday Morning to you all...
I've missed your "knife-on-a-post" shots, John, so it's great to see this "upgrade"! 🤓

A peaceful Sunday to ALL,
and a great Thanksgiving weekend to fellow Canadians!
Welcome back, Gus! Great to see you and one of your fantastic knives again. I hope everyone had an enjoyable Canadian Thanksgiving or Columbus Day or Native American Day or Indigenous Peoples Day (or at least a survivable Monday) earlier this week!:thumbsup::cool:

Awesome! Are you able to get some good heat on them? It seems like every jalapeno I've eaten that was grown in the north just has no heat at all, so I'm wondering how home growing is going for you.
🌶️🌶️ Yes they are hot. the chocolat ghost pepper are really hot, around 1 000 000 scoville. the jalapeno are around 8000 scoville. I grew 5 varieties outdoor this summer and they were all very good, very tasty and hot, i made sauce with all of them. I mix hot and sweet peppers, oil, vinegar, sea salt, maple syrup, spiced rhum, garlic and tiny tomatoes from my garden. so delicious 👍✌️

Lambsfoot blades in common, but otherwise a lot of variety in that pair, Jack!:cool::cool:
Thanks Gary :) Yes, the Big 'Un is quite a different knife for sure :)
A couple of my favorites from your holdings, Jack!:cool::thumbsup:
Thanks again my friend, I need to start carrying my Abbeydale Jack more regularly again :)

I watched a video of a bloke celebrating Leif Erickson Day! :D Dressing up as a Viking, getting sloshed on red wine, and arguing with crows/ravens looked like fun! :D ;)

Having difficulty posting a media link :(

The definition of the Oxford comma includes the word penultimate.
Which, like decimate, is in grave danger of having it’s meaning co-opted by people using them to mean “even more ultimate”, and “even more devastate”.

I am guilty of being on mental cruise control when using commas, and I’d have to go back and look to see how I usually do it.🤪

That’s amazing that you’ve got omnivorous dog(s)!!!

And thank you for your well wishes, Gary!

Hahaha... I posted a "Lamb on a Post" in the Guardian thread yesterday. ;)

Well, that's just the penultimate straw!

I hope everyone's having a good week.
