Thanks Gary, a couple of my neighbours have quince trees, but those crab apples were only the size of a large berry, grown more for their appearance rather than to eat I think, though they are edible. I wasn't familiar with them, and had to look them up, they're known as Golden Hornet. We don't mind waiting for you over there my friend!Grand pair of Barlows, Jack! Are those apples behind you HHB? They remind me of the fruit we get on a quince bush.
Thanks for your encouraging words, Jack.I spend lots of time in the Guardians thread, but since I'm always a week behind, I haven't posted in a long time.
Thanks again GaryThanks for your informative and engaging replies, Jack.I like those summer sausage "logs". I occasionally will use it for sandwiches, but I use it much more often as an ingredient in other meals. I'll typically cut off and dice 4 thin slices 2 or 3 times per week to put in my breakfast oatmeal or a supper vegetable casserole/stew.
A good combination.
In my briefcase. How do you carry your hobo knife? I recently got a Ka-Bar version that carries well in a pocket of my winter coat, but that's not what I typically wear to summer picnics.
We all have different systems for choosing a pair. These two aren't quite as complementary, but they seem to be compatible.Diverse Duo: dark and light, big and small, 1 blade and 2, lambsfoot and clip point, English and American, wood and bone, barehead and endcap, no shield and shield. The diversity boggles the mind!!![]()
I admit the only true connection may be that I saw them hanging near each other at the hardware store and noticed the same yellow color on the packaging. Thanks for the follow-up, Rachel.I hadn't made the Stanley connection.
Man, I really love that knife. Simple and elegant at the same time. Truly functional art!!
Why thank you good sir! I certainly do agree. I’m ready for Small to medium size game, leather work, bottles, cans, screws, and anything else that might come at me while I’m in and out of the office todayA good combination.
Great pairing and fantastic picture, Todd... I like the color combination.
You should be well prepared today, Jack.
Thank you, GT.Definitely a very special knife, John!
Funny you should say that, it lives on a pedastal on my desk.I can see why you put it on a pedestal
Haha... Love that pairing, Rachel.
Yes, you get it! The broken main on the Schmachtenberg still gives me a usable straight edge, too.Haha... Love that pairing, Rachel.![]()
One to give you a Main and one to give you a Secondary.
