I finally caught that little pun...
Anyway, what a gorgeous old Catt.
Headed to Chicago for my daughter’s swim meet. I’m sure we will probably have a few beers and some pizza as well. Brought my new Zippo Peanut. View attachment 1685530
One blade? Love that smooth white bone!
Be careful, that blade might be too big in Chicago. I didn’t know there were zippo shields on Case knives until you shared pictures.

Thanks. The finishing touch, his anchor, came in yesterday.
To heck with local ordinances. I think a halberd and breastplate are needed for that place.

Combination of good lighting, good photography, and a really good looking knife.
Thank you kindly Jack !

This Case Sowbelly is a SFO from about ten years ago. I do not know who commissioned it or how many were made. I have not seen any of the others. Do any of you have any information about this model?

Tony Bose designed Case’s Sowbelly pattern, and the ergonomics are excellent. It is perfectly shaped and balanced. The knife seems to lay centered in the middle of your hand on its own volition. The curves make it to carry unobtrusively in your pocket. I love the sunken joints and absence of a half stop. The blade shape and swedge are pure Tony!

It’s been a good week of great knife shots from you all, so thanks!
Knifely version of comfort food today. Trapper and whaler. Of course, the lil jack and SAK are with me as well.
This photo shows the old and the new in my little corner of woods. European Buckthorn~ OUT! The red leaf is on a 3ft red oak seedling I’ve started.495ABDB0-42BB-489C-9CB1-5C33F55D3E10.jpeg

A truly fine choice, Todd.
Can't ever go wrong with a Medium Jack.
Especially a gifted one. 😉👍

Thanks Jeff, these are the first one blade Peanuts I’ve had, so far I’m enjoying this one.

You maybe right about that.
I tried to order a salad last night with greens from the “Amir Fleschwund” garden, but it wasn’t on the menu. Is Michigan Ave. outside your distribution Jeff? 😊

Cleaning up the place for family coming up next week. Still love this Boker. The 2 issues I had have been resolved. Knife came wicked dull and the lock back was very stiff and I mean stiff. Now that it is sharp and the backlock loosen up some it is a really sweet knife and a pleasure to carry and use.

Climbing into my BF Time Machine to go back over a week to find some posts that deserve comment IMHO.

...
I’ll probably relocate and chop up some leaves and do some other outdoor chores~that firewood still hasn’t split itself. ...View attachment 1680784View attachment 1680785
Terrific trio of knives, Jeff!

Newest addition to the rotation. My first canoe, and I'm already a big fan.
...
Congrats on the new Case American Workman canoe!:thumbsup::thumbsup: When my first canoe arrived, I planned to carry it for a week, but ended up carrying it for a month straight; now I have almost 4 dozen canoes! 😲

Carrying this Queen Canoe today; sadly it was one of the last of the good ones from them imho.
...
Your Queen canoe is very regal!:cool::thumbsup:

Red hot pair, José! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

... We ended up going to a brewery owned by an old friend I used to play softball with years ago. Had a great time hanging out with my daughter. Hope you had better weather!

Sounds like a good time, Todd!:cool::cool: I miss my old teammates from the Shady Oak Bombers slo-pitch team I played with for almost a decade back in the 70s and 80s. Looks like several beers on that board I'd like to try! 🤓

...
I'm going for a walk along the river, to the Royal Armouries Museum, for Remembrance Sunday, here. Just hoping I don't fall in! Have a good Sunday everyone

...
I enjoyed seeing your photos of the museum, Jack, and you had a thrilling threesome of folders to take with you. I know you're partial to your stag HHB, but that rosewood HHB is a fine piece of cutlery as well!:thumbsup::cool:

Like the lightest touch of leaves falling

Sumptuous sowbelly, Gev; great to see you posting more regularly again!:thumbsup::cool:

I don't know art, but I know what I like, and I really like this photo, Jeff!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Go Bucs!
My team isn't doing well, but can get back on track with a win over The Packers today.
I always get confused this time of year when I read or hear, "Go Bucs!" I think to myself, "Baseball is over; why cheer for the Pittsburgh Pirates now?" o_O I suppose baseball has always been, and will always be, closer to my heart than football.

My father-in-law passed away a few weeks ago. My son and nephew were quite close to him and my mother-in-law gave them these two knives. They were quite rusted up and dull but I told the boys I would do my best to clean them up. Wish I would’ve taken a before pic but here’s where they ended up today. I’ll probably work on them some more this week but I’m pumped the boys will be able carry these and think of good times with their pap!
...
Belated condolences on your loss.
Great job of "spiffing up" those knives for the grandsons to remember their granddad!:cool::thumbsup:

and I finished carving this little guy late last night. Prepping for paint today
I really enjoy seeing your carvings, Jon!:cool::thumbsup: I think I prefer seeing them before painting so it's easier for me to see some of the "strokes" you used to achieve various effects.

That's a vintage pair filled with vitality, Steve!:cool::cool:

Beautiful Horn on your Lamb, GT. ...
Thanks, John. :) There's some "inner glow" near the butt end of the mark side that I cherish!

A couple Swiss totes for Sunday.
...
Voluptuous pair of vintage SAKs, JJ!:thumbsup::cool:

Been gone hunting and fishing the last week (tried to keep up when I had a signal, but 25 pages behind!!) Yesterday and todays pocket carry - a whittler. OH
...
Böker makes a very decent knife and particularly admire those Washboard Bone scales- grippy and elegant. Their Whittler is just right.
...
Bruce and Will, those brown bone washboard Bökers are sensational!:thumbsup::cool:

Five Star Dining at Home.
...
Good-looking spread, John!:thumbsup::thumbsup: I've enjoyed your morning fire shots, too. May I suggest that maybe you could use the fire to heat the meat a bit longer?? ;) 🤓

Great afternoon fishing with my Dad and son. I carried my Schrade 893.
...
We all caught fish. My Dad gets the award for the biggest.
...
Outstanding knife and impressive fish!!:cool::thumbsup:

Going to carry this one tomorrow. Been late posting this past 9 days as my daughter got me and my wife a trip to visit her and my first grandchild so busy with family.
...
Congrats on the grandchild, Dave!:cool::thumbsup:

They keep pushing the envelope with tv commercials. Just waiting for “But wait there’s more!” in an incontinence commercial.
😁 😁

...
Going down to just one knife is only a mental exercise. It is HIGHLY unlikely to happen!
I think that's the situation for me, as well. 🤓

...
About those leaves now under snow and frozen to the ground...don’t worry, they’ll be there waiting for you.
Good advice.:thumbsup: The city emptied our "yard waste cart" on Tuesday, and I don't teach a class on Wednesday, so I was able to get home before dark and fill the cart again with all the piles I'd been accumulating over the past week.

...
I have gathered them up with my trusty leaf blower and the grass catcher on my tractor almost every day lately, and now have some huge piles to compost. I’ve been chopping them up with mowers and a leaf shredder, to make them break down faster. Time for another load of manure from the horse farm.
Sounds like you have an effective leaf disposal system, Jeff!:cool::cool: I miss the little leaf shredder we used to have. It was essentially like the head of an electric string trimmer in the bottom of a hopper/funnel. I'd set it on top of a trash can and dump leaves into the top, and the whirling "strings" would shred the leaves as they fell through into the trash can. It would reduce the volume of the leaves to about 1/4 or 1/5 of their unshredded volume, so the yard waste cart didn't fill up nearly as quickly. But the motor burned out and I couldn't find another one. Should look again for a similar contraption.

My carry for today. Inspired by @OldHercDude to carry my Expedition more so I can get a pretty patina going! The Club shouldn’t be much of a surprise to anyone. Also in my pocket but not pictured is my little Micarta baby butterbean. ...View attachment 1682145
Boffo brace of Bökers, Todd!:thumbsup::cool:

This Kabar today; probably have had it about 40 years.
...
Your old Kabar stockman is sensational!:thumbsup::cool:

Just arrived today, a beautiful Stag tobacco Bulldog Barlow

...
Congrats on getting one of those curved stag Bulldog Barlows, Paul; very fetching folder!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you for yours, as well as others, encouragement. I prefer to leave them unpainted as well but this one needed it to achieve everything I was going for.

Yeah I miss those days also, a shoulder injury ended my playing days way too soon. I need to take my wife to that brewery sometime soon also because her tastes are similar to yours Gary. It’s a fun place with a beer style for any taste.

Thanks Gary, you got me again, had to look up “Boffo.” 🤣

I’m sorry, Todd, now that I don’t have to be in there for work, O’Hare Field is as far as I go.
And speaking of which, I’m out the door for the aeropuerte right now. My two youngest grandkids are coming!😍🥳😚
