What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Woooooooweeee... A White Owl... So nice.
I can't wait for you to share your thoughts on it while I wait for mine to arrive.

That's a beautiful looking little fixed blade. 🤠
Thank you, John.

To me, a small fixed is very useful. John’s Redmeadow subforum is pretty active, and shows much of his excellent work. He’s also done some very nice leather work, like you. I think I will put the twin to your LS Carver in the car - since unfortunately, it hasn’t seen any use because of the Redmeadow and JK.

GEC folder today.

The Forum Knife seems to have clicked with you, Jack.
It does make a very good pairing with your Lambsfoot knives.
Definitely John, I'm really enjoying carrying it :) When it comes to work, I instinctively reach for my Lambsfoot, of course, but hopefully we'll both get to bite some cake tomorrow ;) :D
Happy Wednesday Everybody.
Going to go watch our little town's "World Famous" Day Before Thanksgiving Day Parade
I'm sticking with my Usual Lamb and the Zippo (Case) Single Blade Mini Trapper. Hope you all have a great day. :)
Nice combination mate, have a great time :)
I always feel guilty when my collection grows past 40 knives...

The large A.Wright and slightly larger #23 ought to do.
The 23 served me well yesterday in trimming out two - half bushels of beets for canning.View attachment 1688359Have a decent day, huh?
Very practical pairing Jeff :)
Just for a change of pace this week, I'm going to post the knives I'm carrying for the week with the categories in reverse order! 🤯o_O:eek:
I hope none of our heads explode. 😁
Lambsfoot of the Week is a stag senator pattern I won in a GAW several years ago (thanks, @R.c.s ). I call it Man Jack.

Handy trio Gary !

Headed out to the Pharmacy in a bit to pick up prescriptions. It'll be a quick trip to town - no Wagon Wheel Cafe but will make a last minute stop at the Holiday Market for last minute items for our Thanksgiving spread. I'll be carrying the Saddlehorn that I am carrying for the week and in addition, I'll be totin this Case CV Sowbelly.

I almost got caught up with this thread last weekend, but I apparently don't have the stamina to keep up!

Today with this Veríssimo-Miranda do Douro Portuguese knife in stag.

Such a splendid stag knife, José, with the dapper little man by the river on the blade!:thumbsup: 🤓

...
Why carry just knife?
That's a very insightful question! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
I grew up on a dairy farm, so I suppose I could be called an ex-farmer. It seems only fitting that I get a Farmer-X! 🤓 I hope I can find one as nice as yours!

A wunderfully peaceful Sunday to All:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Gus, you are on an incredible roll lately with the delectable vintage knives!:cool::thumbsup:

Hmmmm... Now you have me thinking. 🤔
My 11th Grade Core class (Language Arts and History) got to play Battleship for the last half hour of class. It was right before the Thanksgiving break, so they were not motivated to listen to a lecture. I said, "Okay, if the Principal walks in and asks what we are doing, tell him we are studying WWII Naval strategies." 🤣

Look... Somebody left a Hartshead laying around. ;)
...
Good thinking, John; lotta different ways to get people involved with a given topic!:thumbsup: 🤓
I was the guy that left the rosewood HHB lying around. I need to significantly improve my sharpening skills; I was trying to play mumbletypeg with my lambsfoot, but simply could NOT get it to stick in that cast iron target! :(

Your Cat-a-Raw-Goose Barlow is outstanding, Gev!:cool::cool:

Happy Saturday!

Case Sowbelly & Victorinox Compact
Striking pair, Mike; the handles on both are top-notch!:thumbsup::cool:

It's probably because of the holiday season that's upon us, but that knife of yours always reminds me of Dickens' A Christmas Carol, even though I realize Scrooge's late partner was named Marley, not Morley.:thumbsup::cool:

I always have this problem here in MN, because it almost always snows at least one before all the leaves have fallen. Hasn't been too bad this year, but we did get a light snow a week or so ago, and I had to rush to at least deal with the leaves in the front yard. I still have a lot in the back to deal with:
Yeah, I tend to be kind of a control freak, and I suppose these seasonal "mistimings" of leaf fall and snowfall are a reminder that I need to be patient and relax, since there are so many things over which I really have no control at all, despite all my arrogance plans!;)

...
Grate photo Gary :D ;) Enjoy carrying your Hartshead Barlow my friend :)
...
Have a great Sunday everyone :) I'm carrying one of my Damascus Lambsfoot SFOs, and my Forum Knife :)
...
Very clever, Jack! 🤓:thumbsup: I don't think of myself as a huge fan of the Barlow pattern, but I DO thoroughly enjoy carrying my rosewood HHB!
You selected an impressive pair to kick off the week!!:cool::thumbsup:

It’s been a good week of great knife shots from you all, so thanks!
Knifely version of comfort food today. Trapper and whaler. Of course, the lil jack and SAK are with me as well.
This photo shows the old and the new in my little corner of woods. European Buckthorn~ OUT! The red leaf is on a 3ft red oak seedling I’ve started.View attachment 1686247

Speaking of great knife shots, I really like your colorful contributions in this post, Jeff!:cool::thumbsup:

Yeah I miss those days also, a shoulder injury ended my playing days way too soon. I need to take my wife to that brewery sometime soon also because her tastes are similar to yours Gary. It’s a fun place with a beer style for any taste.

Thanks Gary, you got me again, had to look up “Boffo.” 🤣
Sorry to hear your shoulder kept you from playing softball, Todd. I played on at least one team every summer from 1975 through 2017. But I had a cataract that was getting so bad in 2017 that I started to worry about fly balls hitting me in the face, so I sat out 2018. I had cataract surgery in January and March of 2019, but there were complications so I told my church team I couldn't commit to playing that summer. Then 2020 was COVID and the "athletic complex" at which we played closed before the 2021 season, so I didn't play last summer either. At least I'm back to playing basketball again, wearing masks - but I can play without glasses now!

Maybe I'm older than I think I am, and half of my vocabulary is "vintage" and only other geezers understand me! 🧙‍♂️ 😁

Yowza! I hope tomorrow I get to eat some dinner rolls as golden brown and tasty as that pair of vintage knives, Steve!!:cool::cool:

Thank you X 2, Gary!
Back in the sixties, Grandpa & Grandma subscribed to Rodale’s Organic Gardening and Farming magazine. From an ad in the back, they bought a Kenp garden shredder. It won’t handle sticks and stringy weed stems, but it’s a champ on dry leaves. Chopped up fine like that, they break down into compost fast. Of course, I have to add greens/nitrogen in. Unshredded leaves take way too long. This stuff will be next spring’s seedbeds.

Shady Oaks Bombers slow pitch softball?
When I first read that, I read Shady Oaks Rest Home. I think I’m feeling my age today!🤣
So you're still using a shredder your grandparents used in the 60s? That's fantastic!:thumbsup::cool: I saw that Tractor Supply has a leaf shredder branded "Martha Stewart" (made by an outfit called SnoJoe, I think); I should shop around a little.

Sort of amazing how our mood or mind set can cause us to misread stuff sometimes! 😁

These three have been used around the house this weekend. The Moki is new, I have wanted one for a few years.

Congrats on the Moki!:thumbsup::cool: I've often looked at Moki models, but haveneverpulled the trigger. How do you like yours so far?
I always admire the Presidentials!

Overcook my meat??? NEVER! ;)
Different strokes! 😁

Toting this Schrade 98OT today. Won’t need much else.

I don't know how I never heard of the 98OT before; that looks like a splendid stockman!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
What's that jigged bone beauty lying behind it? Couple of slender, stylish slicers!

Hope everyone has a wonderful & blessed Thanksgiving.

That's a very handsome knife Tim :)

I hope all our US members have a very happy Thanksgiving Day tomorrow, and that you get to spend some time with your families and loved ones :) No holiday here tomorrow, so I'll be working my fingers to the bone at my local fleamarket, and sweating over a hot chip butty ;)

Its about time we had photos of the Wagon Wheel Cafe, you go a lot so it must be good.

In other news I bought waggon wheels for the first time in years last week I thought production had stopped.
