You don’t have to get it. When a math professor makes a joke, a polite chuckle will do. Add a snort if you need points for a better grade.Okay kids... Who broke Gary?
Thank you, Jack!Definitely John, I'm really enjoying carrying itWhen it comes to work, I instinctively reach for my Lambsfoot, of course, but hopefully we'll both get to bite some cake tomorrow

Thank you, Gary.I almost got caught up with this thread last weekend, but I apparently don't have the stamina to keep up!
Such a splendid stag knife, José, with the dapper little man by the river on the blade!![]()
That's a very insightful question!
I grew up on a dairy farm, so I suppose I could be called an ex-farmer. It seems only fitting that I get a Farmer-X!I hope I can find one as nice as yours!
Gus, you are on an incredible roll lately with the delectable vintage knives!
Good thinking, John; lotta different ways to get people involved with a given topic!![]()
I was the guy that left the rosewood HHB lying around. I need to significantly improve my sharpening skills; I was trying to play mumbletypeg with my lambsfoot, but simply could NOT get it to stick in that cast iron target!
Your Cat-a-Raw-Goose Barlow is outstanding, Gev!
Striking pair, Mike; the handles on both are top-notch!
It's probably because of the holiday season that's upon us, but that knife of yours always reminds me of Dickens' A Christmas Carol, even though I realize Scrooge's late partner was named Marley, not Morley.
Yeah, I tend to be kind of a control freak, and I suppose these seasonal "mistimings" of leaf fall and snowfall are a reminder that I need to be patient and relax, since there are so many things over which I really have no control at all, despite all my arrogance plans!
Very clever, Jack!![]()
I don't think of myself as a huge fan of the Barlow pattern, but I DO thoroughly enjoy carrying my rosewood HHB!
You selected an impressive pair to kick off the week!!
Speaking of great knife shots, I really like your colorful contributions in this post, Jeff!
Sorry to hear your shoulder kept you from playing softball, Todd. I played on at least one team every summer from 1975 through 2017. But I had a cataract that was getting so bad in 2017 that I started to worry about fly balls hitting me in the face, so I sat out 2018. I had cataract surgery in January and March of 2019, but there were complications so I told my church team I couldn't commit to playing that summer. Then 2020 was COVID and the "athletic complex" at which we played closed before the 2021 season, so I didn't play last summer either. At least I'm back to playing basketball again, wearing masks - but I can play without glasses now!
Maybe I'm older than I think I am, and half of my vocabulary is "vintage" and only other geezers understand me!![]()
Yowza! I hope tomorrow I get to eat some dinner rolls as golden brown and tasty as that pair of vintage knives, Steve!!
So you're still using a shredder your grandparents used in the 60s? That's fantastic!I saw that Tractor Supply has a leaf shredder branded "Martha Stewart" (made by an outfit called SnoJoe, I think); I should shop around a little.
Sort of amazing how our mood or mind set can cause us to misread stuff sometimes!
Congrats on the Moki!I've often looked at Moki models, but haveneverpulled the trigger. How do you like yours so far?
I always admire the Presidentials!![]()
Different strokes!
I don't know how I never heard of the 98OT before; that looks like a splendid stockman!
What's that jigged bone beauty lying behind it? Couple of slender, stylish slicers!
- GT
You have to throw it HARDER!I was trying to play mumbletypeg with my lambsfoot, but simply could NOT get it to stick in that cast iron target!
Let there be cake!No holiday here tomorrow, so I'll be working my fingers to the bone at my local fleamarket, and sweating over a hot chip butty
Not much work got done by either, but I felt prepared.Nice John, those two can get some work done for sure.
Looks like a great day afield and beautiful photos! Knight inline muzzleloader?Thought I’d carry the Schrade PH1 I snagged in the box of knives GAW to bring me luck today. No elk, but a good day afield.

It is. They changed the law that would allow me to use one with a sealed breach, but this one works so well I see no reason to change.Knight inline muzzleloader?
Looks great to me, I know they are very well regarded. Would love to try one someday, can't get more traditional than that and especially with iron sights. It is. They changed the law that would allow me to use one with a sealed breach, but this one works so well I see no reason to change.
In his Glengarry or Tammy hat, of course. You could be Scottish in a kilt, then where would you keep it when yer sporrans full?![]()
