My little Finnish knife along with a 5 Markka note.

Nice to see that! Think the 5 FMK notes disappeared in the early 90s replaced by a coin, there even used to be a 1 FMK note after the currency reform of 1963....5 Fmk isn't even a Euro now, all shows how inflation has roared along since the € got introduced. Sweden and Denmark had referendums about retaining their Kronor and they voted against Euro adoption . We weren't allowed a referendum ...might've given the 'wrong' result...The Markka existed since the 1860s when Finland was a Grand Duchy of Russia, our own currency and National Bank even then, not any longer o_O

When the sun is out I am out.

I went into my garden to learn a new skill, its dead simple and very useful.

I could have used my saw and sand paper (no fun in that) so I beaver tailed this very hard wood to cut it.

Then I gradually shortened it until it does the job and is pocket friendly, finally scraping of the bark and oiling the wood.

As the sun was still out when I finished I put on 2 down jackets and sat outside and read another chapter from Nessmuk with a strong cup of tea for company.

It was the chapter on camp fires.

Though I like to learn new things I dont think it would go down to well if with my neighbours or the fire brigade if I cut down my tree and set a massive camp fire in my back garden. 😆

So I am back inside with the heating on waiting for something special coming in the post.

Love the post shots John.
Thank you, Todd. :)
And that's a post on my property that I haven't used in a picture before... The post is way older than my house.
I know, the Owl is tough to leave alone.
I've been grabbing mine off the shelf constantly.
We are decorating the tree this weekend, so hopefully my holiday pictures will start soon... yours are inspirational. 🤠
