Still a nice flat white in a not so busy street just off the main drag and I got two old records from the market that is Bad Company and Los Lobos.

Back home to Billy Barlow to open todays mail call,I am giving it a hard workout 😂

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Really digging this stockman, hard to kick it out of the pocket.

Miscellaneous Knife of the Week is a Keen Kutter Office Knife (thanks, Mark):

Peanut of the Week was actually a "blank" I left in the rotation schedule into which I could put any new peanutesque knife I acquired since making the schedule, but I haven't found a new one to put there yet. So for this week I'm just carrying a Remington Peanut I like:

Decided to break out the harness jack. Love this one.

Thanks, Dave. And I don’t blame you for liking the Harness Jack! It’s a great combination of blades.

At the risk of boring y’all, and neglecting my cigar boxes of other perfectly good knives, I’m staying with my Schrade Walden 294. It just suits me so well~ handle shape, and long clip blade combined with the pen blade. I’ve got a prettier one in peach seed bone, but I can be clumsy, so bulletproof delrin just works. And I carry this old Sodbuster a lot, too. Just like it.
Rain and heavy wind took out our electricity and took down my front gate (the 6x8 post the gate hung on was rotted and I should have already replaced it!) in the wee hours, so this led Maglite is riding with my knives in my pocket. And cowboy coffee is just fine. Luckily I had some bean already ground up.

Which made me feel a bit guilty for grumbling about a little power outage.
If you’re the praying sort, this would be a good time...
I sure hope any of the Blade Forum Porchsters in the path of that monster storm are safe.

View attachment 1699628Of course the the BF86 but the Scout from Standard Knife Co. I bought it off eBay. Couldn’t tell you anything about it. Could be real? could be fake? Not sure. It’s cool though. Nice action, blade became sharp, and pretty good looking bone. I like to have it around
The forum knife speaks for itself but that Scout is a beauty and I'm sure it's as right as rain  I'll buy vintage knives at times just because the bone is amazing :)

Same here Jeff. We got minimal damage from strong winds. Less than an hour east of here an Amazon fulfillment center collapsed a few miles from where my son goes to college. We were very lucky, our thoughts and prayers go out to those who got the worst of the storms.

A big thump sent me out in the dark last night to see what had hit the house. The wind was howling and there was lightning 360 degrees. Quite the storm yet it was mild compared to other places. Hope all y'all are ok.
A big old limb came off one of my maples and part of it hit the roof on the way down. As far as I can see from the ground it didn't damage anything. The 29 I carried this morning as I picked it up:

Here's what I picked up. The arrow is pointing to the 29.

Couple of favorite knives and a favorite ornament my daughter made when she was in 1st grade, she is now a senior in college. View attachment 1699688
My tree is covered with decorations my girls have made, or those that my parents have sent them with their names on them, and a few I made as a kid. Now that my oldest daughter has her own house, I hope she doesn’t want to take the ones she made. My tree would be pretty empty if she did!!!

Like the old school coffee pot. Hopefully power is restored soon.

Frosty morning...

Thought a little fire would warm things up...

Starting to warm up a little... :)
Love your outdoors shots John. Man I wish I could have a fire here too, that looks so nice, way too windy and wet this morning.
