What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thank you very kindly, Jeff!!! The TL-29 has brass liners making it pre WWII (or pre 1941, most probably.) I wonder if the Colonials were packed in Cosmoline and the seller did not know how to properly remove it, as it's a bit of a pain... 😲 :)
Removing cosmoline from a rifle:

1.Buy flowers for wife.

2.Remove stock.

3.Line bottom of oven with foil.

4.Bake that sucker clean.

After you smell the kitchen, you’ll understand #1.

Caveat~ this is from a guy who parkerized an entire FAL (disassembled and sandblasted) on the stove top.

Edit: two FALs, and they came out great.

That's classic Jeff! The FALs were certainly fun shooters; nice job! 😁

Ye ha,I just found my Frontier knife it was in a box of knives to trade or sell.

I had tightened the main blade a week ago using my vice, when I came in from my workshop/shed I must have put it on the table then scooped it up with the others.

Why do I like it so much? I dont know maybe its because its just a honest little knife that would have been bought to use and not collect back in the day.
Its also a bit like the spotty girl at the dance you feel sorry for 😆

It sharpens real nice, easy to handle and fits in a pocket without drama.

Funny thing was I was looking at Pony Jacks trying to decide whether to buy one when I thought of searching again.

Sweet Jack!
This ought to ease the temptation for the Pony.

I really like the main blade on that.

Thanks Dave. The Red Trout is part of my "never sell" collection :D
The dental procedure wasn't that bad. A little tenderness this morning. By tonight or tomorrow morning it will be unnoticeable. Glad it's out of the way too. Hope yours went as well as mine
It is definately a keeper! I wish Red Trout had been on my radar a couple years ago, Rich Lanigan's story is very inspiring, very sad he is no longer with us. The procedure went well, fear of the dentist chair was the worst of it and the PTSD will wear off soon.
Happy Thursday Everybody
Love the White Owl and the white Christmas theme decorations. ☃️🎅🎄👍👍👍
Actually the top one is an AEC (almost everyday carry) while the bottom one was yesterday's and today's carry,

Look forward to seeing more of you there Dave :) Thank you my friend :)

Had these two with me again today :)

A great day to All:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Amazing example, like everything about it:thumbsup:
This is a repost from another part of the forum I posted in…

High winds and no power again. 😒 Supposed to drop below freezing tonight and for the posted future, so fingers crossed they fix the power soon. 🤞🏼 Thank goodness for hydro workers!

It’s so windy the trees aren’t even sure what to do…they are just spinning in very wide circles. I’m sure my trails are an absolute mess.

I’m thankful for deciding to fell a mature, double trunked tree that was 20ft from our home this spring. The doves weren’t happy, but it is peace of mind for me now.

Hope everyone’s day is brighter than mine! :)
Things could be worse…what weird weather for mid-December here.

Wind is ramping up it’s speed even as I repost this. 😕 Gonna have to change my plans for the day and keep an eye on the weather.

Sounds like an ominous storm, even for those who have been exposed in the past, hope you were able to ride that one out. Very nice knives, love the lines, stag, and finishing.

Went on a hike along the 1871 trail and rewarded myself with some huli huli chicken and beef brisket purchased from the side of the road on the way home.
Looks like a perfect day with that knife, friend/pet, meal, and scenery. My sister lives there so I have to ask her about the huli huli since I can't get it by the side of the road here;)

Carrying this little 708, it can hold it's own with the peanut or 12OT

Sowbelly stockman of the Week is a Case CV chestnut jigged bone model, a surprise Christmas gift 7 years ago from the late Ron @Half/Stop:

"Regular" Stockman of the Week is really not all that regular. It's another Case stockman, and another gift (thanks, Mike), this one a humpback stockman in pocket-worn Harvest Orange bone with a spearpoint main blade instead of the usual stockman clip. Splendid knife!!

I am a complete sucker for the Sowbelly. This one is called a Rabbit Knife because of the skinning blade, but it has a Sowbelly handle. I could be wrong, but I am fairly certain that Tony Bose created the Rabbit Knife. I know he skinned many rabbits using ones he made. This knife was made by John Lloyd using Tony’s pattern and some very nice burlap micarta
Superb this knife, the handle is bright .
I like it a lot 😊

because I secretly like stainless.
Nothing wrong with coming out of the closet, good Stainless suits me just as well as good CV, in fact for a skinning knife you can’t beat SS.
You need to check out the Guardians thread Bruce! :D
Thanks Jack, I watched a couple of the video’s and that‘s simple enough that I can do it too! I’ll be giving it a try. OH
