What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

This is a repost from another part of the forum I posted in…

High winds and no power again. 😒 Supposed to drop below freezing tonight and for the posted future, so fingers crossed they fix the power soon. 🤞🏼 Thank goodness for hydro workers!

It’s so windy the trees aren’t even sure what to do…they are just spinning in very wide circles. I’m sure my trails are an absolute mess.

I’m thankful for deciding to fell a mature, double trunked tree that was 20ft from our home this spring. The doves weren’t happy, but it is peace of mind for me now.

Hope everyone’s day is brighter than mine! :)
Things could be worse…what weird weather for mid-December here.

Wind is ramping up it’s speed even as I repost this. 😕 Gonna have to change my plans for the day and keep an eye on the weather.

Farm & Field ... nothing fancy and honestly I spent more time taking and posting the picture than anyone will spend looking at it ... that's okay
But back in the day when I first noticed GEC and what they were up to, this knife was a grail knife for me
It reminded me of the beloved black handled Case Sod Buster Jr in CV steel I constantly carried back in the 70's ... only much MUCH better quality and proportions
For me, the Bull Nose (not Bulls Nose please) is a joy to carry and use and my own collection wouldn't be complete without one

I agree Jim. I picked up my first this year and was also fortunate enough to help another forum member get their first as well.

Sorry to hear that Coleman, especially after the last week that you've seen there. I suppose it could be worse, but hopefully the power gets restored sooner than later...🙏

I "liked" your post, but...hope the power's back on before tonight.

Hope you make it through this storm safe and sound. OH

Thank you both for the well wishes. :) We deal with power outages all year long where we are, they usually don’t last more than a couple hours.

I’m not upset or bummed out, as it is a way of life. :)

Some siding ripped off the house in an awkward place to fix because of terrain slope, but I’ll get ‘er done when the winds die down.

The power of nature is awe inspiring…

It’s almost Friday! 😁

Great pair of knives, JJ! From this angle, they both look fairly pristine.
I have a Robeson civilian linesman/electrician, which was a thoughtful gift from Harry, but don’t have a Robeson TL-29. I’m curious if it has steel liners? Of the ones in my cigar box, only Robeson and Case handled theirs in walnut.
Edit~ oops, I think the Colonial I have is walnut, but that’s a weird one, and I’ve never carried it, even once. Ebay seller claimed he had 20 or so “New Old Stock”, “Never used”, Colonials, and they were only about $20, so I bought one. It does indeed look unused, but then why in the heck is the tang stamp buffed off?
Thank you very kindly, Jeff!!! The TL-29 has brass liners making it pre WWII (or pre 1941, most probably.) I wonder if the Colonials were packed in Cosmoline and the seller did not know how to properly remove it, as it's a bit of a pain... 😲 :)

Ye ha,I just found my Frontier knife it was in a box of knives to trade or sell.

I had tightened the main blade a week ago using my vice, when I came in from my workshop/shed I must have put it on the table then scooped it up with the others.

Why do I like it so much? I dont know maybe its because its just a honest little knife that would have been bought to use and not collect back in the day.
Its also a bit like the spotty girl at the dance you feel sorry for 😆

It sharpens real nice, easy to handle and fits in a pocket without drama.

Funny thing was I was looking at Pony Jacks trying to decide whether to buy one when I thought of searching again.
