Good on you sir!! It is in giving that we receive. A true demonstration of the Christmas spirit!I went into town looking for the homeless, it was a good day.
I found Lenny (been looking for him for a week) and kitted him out with boots, gloves, socks etc.using the chair I brought along as he's disabled, yet stands out in all weather selling the big issue..
Then walked around town and kitted a few more out including two lady's.
I stopped for a bite to eat and a hot drink in the market,I used my cadet to half the sandwich I couldn't eat it all and took half home.
White hot chocolate called Casa Blanca, what a pun.
Everyone was grateful, I then drove the long way home looking for more people.
Next I kitted out the poshest sounding bloke ive ever met who was on a bike,I am always careful how I ask it could be a builder on the way home
But these last 2 made my day,it was like a sketch from a comedy show.
Such nice blokes who looked after each other and shared.
One had been beaten up and the police had kept his clothes for forensics,he was wearing hospital socks FFS.
The other I said are you Army give me your number, which he did but it was his prison number and he admitted he hadn't served with a cheeky smile,I think he was just trying to please me.
When I got the chair out so his mate could try on the boots they couldn't believe it.I think its as much that you spare them some time they appreciate as much as anything.
His mate threw his old shoes straight in the bin they were way past worn out.
I helped one put on the jacket I gave him and was asked to lace up the boots which I also did as he only had one operative arm.
they where just so grateful and cheerful, they made me wish I could help them more.
The church community hall had opened next to us,they where going in for some hot food,it was quite a big queue which was a refection on the times we live in.
So off they went very happy for some grub.
