Off topic question. What is the secret to keeping a zippo from drying out? I keep one in my truck bag and it is dry within a couple days of adding fluid?I don’t smoke, but carry a Zippo lighter every day. I like the matte black Zippos. Fireplace, smoker, propane grill, burn barrel, there’s always something to light on fire.

Thanks. Me too. I'll let you know.Hope that goes OK Jer![]()
I lived up north but was born in the deep South I am southerner![]()
You might try sealing it in a zipper bag, but that might only slow it down.Off topic question. What is the secret to keeping a zippo from drying out? I keep one in my truck bag and it is dry within a couple days of adding fluid?

Merry Christmas to you as well!Very true there always is something to light on fire lol
I might have to pick up a matt black one you have good taste
I actually have a cherry inlay zippo on the way that should be pretty nice.
Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones Sir![]()
Boy, that’s a fine one. I’d call it a vintage traditional. Yes, I use a utility knife~ uglier than yours~ because there are things I hate to abuse my knives on~cardboard, drywall, tarpaper etc.I carried the TC Barlow today. Anyone else use an old Stanley 199 utility knife?

I hope it comes out like this~I really did carry all these yesterday. I'm wearing cargo pants again today, but I've got a CT this afternoon. I expect they'll indulge me a little, but maybe not this far. Anyway, my pants pockets will probably be in a locker.

Just to establish my cleverness, I expect them to find that I'm internally bleeding my best for Eliquis, which should be an easy fix. And maybe something else, but maybe not.

Jack Black gave a good answer. About all I can add is that I’d use a Bic or other butane lighter for storage/emergency use, and tote the Zippo for class and styleOff topic question. Wow.You can buy inexpensive rubber seals, which fit below the fuel chamber. They stop the fuel drying out as fast. It's a design flaw unfortunately. You can also replace the entire fuel chamber with a butane insert. One type burns with a flame just like a Zippo flame, the other has a more concentrated jet. They cost about the same as a Zippo. Another solution is to carry the fuel separately, Zippo make a small cannister which will fit on a key-chain. Yet another solution is to buy a Bic, but of course they don't have the Zippo cool factor!![]()
Nice knife and picture, Gary.
I hope it flew by for you.Unfortunately for me it’s going to be a late night at work for me
Very cool picture.
My Dad would only use a Stanley Utility Knife. For reasons unknown to me, he hated pocket knives... I think they were too low-brow for him.
A very appropriate beverage, Jack.
I think we all have the same problem here.I can be bad about accumulating things
Awww... So precious.
Thanks Jeff, I realised I missed a good photo opportunity, but I'm having a lazy day!Jack Black gave a good answer. About all I can add is that I’d use a Bic or other butane lighter for storage/emergency use, and tote the Zippo for class and style
And keep a bottle of lighter fluid around!
Same here Jer! Previously I bought it in the £ ShopI had to send away to Llamaland for my last tin of lighter fluid.
A very appropriate beverage, Jack.![]()
