Thanks for the pike comments, guys. If all the lights are off in the cabin, it's kinda cool to sweep a flashlight around the room looking over the lake, where the license plate pike is "mounted", and see the reflective stuff on the plates light up.

Jeremy, those are a couple of nice wood knives, I especially like that osage orange!

Thanks Gary. I was on the fence on the 68 when I picked it up but it has been a knife I’m very glad to have. Not much to add on the Barlow, other than my gratefulness to have gotten a smokin’ deal on it from a member here.

Christmas movies are something I really enjoy. I make a list every year and cross them off as I watch ‘em. Some of my favorites are National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Home Alone, Scrooged, Die Hard, It’s a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Story.

Thanks for the Christmas movie list, Barrett. The last 3 titles on your list are 3 of my favorites, but I don't think I've ever seen Scrooged. My daughter always lobbies for Elf and for While You Were Sleeping.

We've always called that kind of nuts, which I've usually only seen at Christmas, filberts. I was surprised to learn only a few years ago that they're also called hazelnuts, as in the coffee flavoring and the Nutella ingredient.
Those ACs are certainly fine knives, and I'm happy to be carrying mine this week!

Headed to town to mail some bills at the Post Office and then on to the Wagon Wheel Cafe for eggs up with sausage and hash brown potatoes. It didn't snow over night so that's a plus today. I'll be carrying the Scout Trapper again. It's a good robust knife to have during the kind of weather we're having. The roads are still snow and ice covered so it'll be a slow trip.

Paul, sorry to read that you won't be dancing in the New Year, but glad to read in a later report that you're improving enough to shovel snow! I think the way I dance (or don't really dance) is less strenuous than the way I shovel snow (and I think I probably enjoy shoveling snow more than I enjoy dancing ).

I don’t remember the age off hand but it’s been in the family for many decades now. My dad had it rebuilt a year or 2 ago.

So far I’m really digging the knife so far. Super lightweight, really impressed with the quality of it. I’ll be ordering another ‘Brother’ soon.

I think I dodged a bullet.

This is my five year old grandson with the nerf gun we gave him for Christmas.
I think he would use me for target practice, if he weren’t 800 miles away.

We gave him the snow goggles because he’s a budding snow board punk

About once every year or so I actually walk out the door without a knife. Fortunately I keep a Victorinox Recruit in my work backpack.

Packing up and heading home today from our ski trip. Had a great time but my wife and I didn’t actually ski this year. Was very sloppy and then froze up. The slopes were very icy, too much for a “once a year” skier like me.
