What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks for the pike comments, guys. :) If all the lights are off in the cabin, it's kinda cool to sweep a flashlight around the room looking over the lake, where the license plate pike is "mounted", and see the reflective stuff on the plates light up. šŸ¤“

Jeremy, those are a couple of nice wood knives, I especially like that osage orange!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks Gary. I was on the fence on the 68 when I picked it up but it has been a knife I’m very glad to have. Not much to add on the Barlow, other than my gratefulness to have gotten a smokin’ deal on it from a member here.

Christmas movies are something I really enjoy. I make a list every year and cross them off as I watch ā€˜em. Some of my favorites are National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Home Alone, Scrooged, Die Hard, It’s a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Story.
Thanks for the Christmas movie list, Barrett.:cool::thumbsup: The last 3 titles on your list are 3 of my favorites, but I don't think I've ever seen Scrooged. My daughter always lobbies for Elf and for While You Were Sleeping.

Made myself a T. Bose pattern clip point trapper using the all new MagnaCut steel. She's my new EDC.

Handsome new DIY EDC!! 😲:thumbsup::cool:

Today is Wednesday, right?

Good "wooden horse" (that phrase brings back some happy childhood toy memories)!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
And I have the same model light that you do!

Thanks on both accounts, Gary. I like the pike!
On behalf of whoever crafted that license plate pike, I'll say thanks you! ;)

...
Fab four Gary, I like that Boker
...
Thank you Gary, the nuts are some locally foraged Turkish Hazelnuts, that's the name I found for them :)
...
Just carrying my AC Lambsfoot again today, one of my SFOs from 2018

Thanks, Jack, for the Bƶker stockman compliment; splendid knife and the Will Power Will Power GAW that brought it to me was exciting!:cool::thumbsup:
We've always called that kind of nuts, which I've usually only seen at Christmas, filberts. I was surprised to learn only a few years ago that they're also called hazelnuts, as in the coffee flavoring and the Nutella ingredient.
Those ACs are certainly fine knives, and I'm happy to be carrying mine this week!

Headed to town to mail some bills at the Post Office and then on to the Wagon Wheel Cafe for eggs up with sausage and hash brown potatoes. It didn't snow over night so that's a plus today. I'll be carrying the Scout Trapper again. It's a good robust knife to have during the kind of weather we're having. The roads are still snow and ice covered so it'll be a slow trip.

Paul, sorry to read that you won't be dancing in the New Year, but glad to read in a later report that you're improving enough to shovel snow!:thumbsup::thumbsup: I think the way I dance (or don't really dance) is less strenuous than the way I shovel snow (and I think I probably enjoy shoveling snow more than I enjoy dancing o_O).

Thanks for the info, JosƩ!:cool::thumbsup:

Cool pic of your knife on a tractor!:cool::thumbsup:
It's been many decades since I've seen one of my brothers riding on an old Massey-Ferguson! 😁
How old is that tractor, and how do you like the Brother knife?

Wow! I had no idea that was a new-this-year knife, nor that it had such content-rich blade etches; very cool!:cool::cool: Thanks for the additional photo.

I don’t remember the age off hand but it’s been in the family for many decades now. My dad had it rebuilt a year or 2 ago.

So far I’m really digging the knife so far. Super lightweight, really impressed with the quality of it. I’ll be ordering another ā€˜Brother’ soon.

Very cool picture, Jeff. 🤠
Thanks, amigo. But don’t get the impression I was lounging on the deck for very long.
86 for me today. Taking the wife for some range time and then a lunch View attachment 1711596
Mrs. Fleschwund wanted to take me for some range time, but I apologized profusely.
I think I dodged a bullet.šŸ¤”

This is my five year old grandson with the nerf gun we gave him for Christmas.
I think he would use me for target practice, if he weren’t 800 miles away.

We gave him the snow goggles because he’s a budding snow board punk🤪

Jeff, just let me know when you’re out of town so I can come by and help myself to that Craftsman😁😁. Don’t worry, I’ll post plenty of pictures for you to see!!

About once every year or so I actually walk out the door without a knife. Fortunately I keep a Victorinox Recruit in my work backpack.

Manny watches my knives when I’m out.98F9DB02-C1BA-4D42-8346-BEF53D56DFFE.jpegBut let’s talk about this leaving the house without a knife thing...
We’re here to help, but you have to want to help yourself.šŸ˜„

Hey, I carry a knife in my car too, an Ek Bowie. The only time I’ve ever needed it though, is for fresh road kill.

I’ll bet some deer sausage would win Manny over!!!! I keep a SAK in both of my vehicles and a couple others in my work vehicles, so I’m covered. I just don’t like forgetting to grab one before I go out the door. I’m going to find something else to blame it on, other than my memory. I just can’t think of anything right now🄓
