What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Great-looking pair Steve :)
There is something about steam passenger trains that does good things for the soul... I wish they were more popular here.
Definitely :) I guess they're a lot of work to maintain. The ones here all use volunteer labour. You'll have to visit John ;)

Been scanning 35mm slides today and gathering tax info for my CPA wife (never done taxes in my life gents!!) Got good plans for going fishing for a little while this afternoon, then out to an early dinner with friends, and finally watching the Georgia game tonight. Carrying this Case Whittler for now but I'll switch to the Eisenhower for dinner carry. OH

Great looking and totally practical knives as always, Bruce. But you sure try to cram a lot of fun things into one afternoon. What happens if the fish are really biting?
That’s great to know. I was curious about which company did this one. The clip is a bit different from my other Craftsman 4” stockman that is a Schrade.

Really hard to find decent Craftsman knives. Most were used till they were toothpicks. I watch eBay daily for the gems to come along…but they are needles in haystacks.

I love seeing @TheChunk91 s Craftsman bone stockman collection. At some point, I’m going to run across one and be able to snag it. Paul- you’ll have to let me know if you ever have a need to let go of one!

I love the few Craftsman knives I have. Makes me remember ogling them in Sears when I was a kid.
So you are the one! Checking the Bay everyday for knives I might have wanted?
1641052089169.jpegCan’t blame ya. It’s not like we can just pop on down to Sears, pick one out, and put it on our Sears Revolving Charge®️ anymore.
My knife of the year. A gift from my wife made by Andy Fannin.

Hang on, the floor is tilting!
Your wife bought you a custom knife for Christmas? Nice.
I got an Insta Pot pressure cooker. But no complaints, I’m the family cook, and am excited to try this thing out. Sous Vide (sp?) meat, etc...

Have a nice first day of the year

Happy new year to all. I hope that 2022 will bring the return of individual freedom and allow everyone to live their lives without digital and physical constraints and to flourish in a peaceful society.
I couldn’t have said it better, Yann (do I have that right?).
Amen, and Happy New Year

I thank you all here, my friends and acquaintances on this here porch for all of your kind comments, occaisional and undeserved gifts, humor, wit, and especially your love of traditional knives. Let’s all have a great ‘22.
I never have a Knife Of The Year, but I do have some regular old favorites.

Here’s some older ones that I truly love, and an old Deerslayer I might need later in case coyotes attack while I’m bravely battling our “Winter Storm Warning”
Anyway it IS Schradurday.295FBC66-4811-4353-9697-7267E18F5D65.jpegB7C12E8B-1A64-431D-B5EB-76722CBF5894.jpegNot NY Resolutions in any official sense, but the photos reflect two things I’d like to do more of this year ~ play guitar and read good books. My son sent me this one for Christmas.

Worked some more on my knife data base . My kids promised to help do it , but that did not work out , and I have a hard time staying concentrated on it . I am just putting in all of the knives that have a decent value so far . I have only been working on it for about 2 years off and on . Mostly Off I guess .
Pardon the dark photos of what I am carrying today . It just happens to be my KOTY . Northfield 83 Dark Brewed .

Harry
Harry, Your data base efforts seem to reflect my dismal progress on mine. I started it awhile ago, and only managed to enter 54 knives of a few hundred. If I don't get back at it, it's gonna be too late!

Put my Don Morrow Trapper in my pocket for the first day of the new year.

Ah hah moment! New Years resolution: work on knife database!

Happy New Year to all! May 2022 bring happiness, good health and prosperity to you and your families!

Happy New Year porch friends! Got the collards and black eyed peas going this morning. My wife is in charge of the corn bread. My morning started with the 86 2AB, but I see myself changing knives several times today. Likely to go with the stag 74 next, and finish the day with a caplifter (35 b&s or 85). Have a great day everyone!
