I forgot how nice this slim trapper in Black Cherry Winterbottom jigged bone is. That's either the problem, or the beauty, of having too many knives - you feel bad about neglecting them 😧 but it's fun to rediscover one :D

Glad you seemed to have missed most of the ice Mike, that stuff can be really dangerous. It is fun rediscovering a nice knife. Our basement is a mess because I’m doing a little finishing work down there and I’ve got knives stuffed in boxes all over the place that I’ll no doubt “rediscover” someday if I ever finish this project. 😊
That slim trapper is a real looker. 👍
Happy New Year!

Your Eureka Jack looks great Mike and that plate looks delicious and very healthy.
😊👍
This was also taken earlier this morning in anticipation of tomorrow as we should get a good drop of snow tonite…

Happy New Year!

I hope 2022 brings an epic run from GEC that can compare with the 78’s from a few years ago.

bigfish64 bigfish64 , you earlier asked about my colt. These photographs show him in March and then December of 2021. Quite a difference! Thanks for your interest.

Beautiful sentiments Yann, Corto_Malt Corto_Malt . I share your concerns.
Always so beautiful your horses. This foal has become a beautiful horse. 😍
And still a beautiful knife... 👌
Good sunday at your place

Super Nice Saw Cut Barlow from Case. 🤠
Good Morning Porch Friends
Hope you all enjoy the last day of 2021
I'll be carrying my Charlie Lamb for Black Friday and New Years Eve.
Thanks, John. :) I intentionally did not order that Case Barlow online, intending to stop at the biggest Case dealer in Michigan on our vacation and pick out a good one myself. But the dealer had only one left in stock, so I really didn't get to choose after all. But it was a good one!

Your ebony WCLF is definitely a great one, exquisite in fact!:thumbsup::cool:

Love the guy canoeing on a foggy morning! 🤓:thumbsup:

We’ll be here all week.o_O

Your Stag Lamb Foot from Jack’s sfo is near the top of your best looking knives, Gary.
Thanks, Jeff. :) There's evidence to suggest I agree with you; I think I've taken more photos of that knife than of any other knife I have.

The ACs seem to be making a resurgence this week. 🤠
Each of my lambsfoot knives has a resurgence about every 2 months due to the rotation schedule. (They resemble COVID-19 in that way. :(o_O

What with all the snow we've been having here I thought this would be a good day to "go Swiss" so, I broke out my Red Alox Farmer and slipped it in my pocket. It's snowing like crazy as I post this so, maybe it'll come in handy.

Ravishing red Farmer, ED! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

I haven't had much use for the upside-down-writing capabilities, but have come to appreciate the portability of the little Bullet Pen. This pandemic hasn't done my germaphobia any favors, and I like to use my own pen at the bank, etc.

I've got Old Friend and Black Friday knives riding along today. Have a happy and safe New Year, everyone!
...
Your old Böker and big ebony lambsfoot make a striking couple, Rachel.:cool::thumbsup:
Even though I claimed to be a pencil guy, I do always carry a Vic Minichamp with ink pen, and I think that Vic pen is a pressurized ballpoint, so maybe it writes upside-down.
BTW, yesterday my olight was essential, since for the first time, I left a couple of small knives in the watch pocket of pants that were in the laundry. Both knives were small stainless Rough Riders, so I wasn't too worried. In fact, I knew one had lost its shield previously, and I thought the other had no shield. but after I emptied the washer and found the knives, I heard something small and metallic sliding around as I spun the washer drum by hand. I checked the knife, and discovered that it DID come with a tiny badge shield, which was now missing. I couldn't see it in the washer until I used my olight.

A Christmas knife that I’m finally getting around to posting. Boker Barlow black Micarta and N690 steel. View attachment 1712332Hope you all have safe and happy New Year’s Eve celebrations. 🎉🍾
Congrats on the new Christmas Böker, Todd!:cool::cool: It's definitely NOT "your father's Böker" like a 492. 🤓

Thanks GT, I've had this one a while now (Carpenters Whittler and a fairly close match to the Camillus #72). I think it's originally an Ulster knife, made by Schrade (but I could be wrong - I've seen the same knife with the Ulster stamp but don't know when it was introduced). Those two brands have a very intertwined history. Dale Orvet, in his extensive Schrade research lists, published on AAPK, shows it as an open stock pattern, offered from 1953-1980 in that line. I don't know about the Camillus dates. OH
Thanks for the info, Bruce. :)
