I carried a peanut today, with the blackist of synthetic ebony. 😁 A nice one from JohnDF JohnDF .

Thank you kindly Dave :)

Recycled pic from January but I did have this one on me today as I spent most of my day in the snowy woods until dark. Lon Humphrey made, Brute de Forge. View attachment 1711360
Great Lon Humphrey! I still remember doing the Junior Olympic Archery Development with my daughter, great times but you are really into it with the birch bark quiver and those handmade arrows.

Couple of beauties there Steve :)
Thanks, Jack. :) I think the idea is based on the process "graphics designers" use, but I'm trying to do it without investing in fancy image-processing software (such as Photoshop, maybe?). Anyway, the theory is sound, but I've discovered that actually cleanly stripping an existing knife photo of its background is very challenging, tedious, and time-consuming. The background stripping is a little easier if the original photo is just a plain, single color (perhaps taking a photo of the knife setting on a sheet of colored paper), but even then, the knife usually casts a shadow that's hard to strip away without also taking little chunks of the knife itself. (My hand is not extremely steady in trying to use a trackpad to draw a smooth outline around the knife and nothing else.)
I used to spend a lot of time using Photoshop, but I remember when text and photos used to have to be cut out and pasted for publication, and where pics often had to be trimmed by hand. I once rang my editor, and he said, "Hi Jack, I've just spent 10 minutes cutting round your head!" :D
Those two look great Taylor :)
GEC did an outstanding job with their solid and stout 44 Gunstock; a tasty partner to your Hartshead, along with those bagels! 😁
Thank you very much JJ, I always enjoy carrying the 44 :)
