What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

better than the night I had!
Sounds like it was a rough night. :(
two good companions there with you
Thank you, my friend. :)
I’ve talked about this before, that I really like the idea but never quite know the best way to carry one
I wish our state would allow pocket carry of fixed blades. I don't like wearing a sheath on my belt. That's the main reason I didn't push the order button on the Boker Trout knife.
Good luck John, looks like it’s off to a great start.
It was... until I got to work and the internet was down. :(
It wouldn't normally bother me, but I took the whole two weeks off and didn't bother to print out my assignments. 😁
I teach pre-algebra from 9:00 - 10:15 p.m
That's pretty rough duty right there.
Looks like you’re trying out a new background for 2022. I like it.
My Brother-in-Law gave my wife that Lightning Wood cutting board he made, and i stole it for knife pictures. 😆

I was toting these two today.

The Boker was a Christmas present. It’s meant to look like a brook trout; and I think they did a pretty good job.
Oh geez! I wish I hadn't seen that Boker!

Guess I'll go for a different strange combinations today. 😁
Pre - Rough Ryder Rough Rider RR1287 Synthetic Yellow series Loom Fixer/"Half Hawk" and a (based on can opener) 1947-1956 Imperial Engineers knife.
For a drop point blade, I suppose I'll just stick with the Toferner.
OH!! And a genuine Victorinox "SIGNATURE" my then boss's gave me for Christmas (with a now misplaced matching SAK Huntsman) round about 2001 or 2002. Amazingly, the original pen still writes!
(blue ink. It probably would have been used more if it had "professional"/business black ink.)

I hope everyone's 2022 is going great, and no one started the year like at least two of my younger brothers did (again), with a hungover.
You would think after 43 and 45 years, they'd know better ... Oh well. No one ever accused them of being the brightest bulbs on the Halloween Tree ... and if they did, they were either mistaken or lied. 😁

In general I am very much a rule follower, but that is one rule I’m willing to break. I don’t like belt sheaths, at least around town. I put them in my pocket and hope I don’t ever have occasion to be searched.

I know, right?
I'm still thinking about it.
Sorry guys. 😁

UGH! When you have to lecture on a regular schedule remotely, you lose the benefits of ansynchronous, all online courses. I do not envy you. I hope your cool traditionals help ease the pain!

I switched to all online back in 2013 and I'll never, ever return to a classroom and scheduled meeting times, whether it's in person or remote.

Sounds like it was a rough night. :(

Thanks guys. It isn't ideal, but it helps pay the bills and the students are enjoyable. I don't usually teach Pre-Algebra, so that's been a bit of a curveball--I think one that I don't mind?

As usual, I'll post my carries for this week in groups of 3 or 4, over 4 different days chosen from 1/3 thru 1/9. Also as usual, my first group will contain an Alox SAK, a non-Alox SAK, a bailed/shackled non-SAK, and a non-SAK international knife.

An Eland accompanies while I explore an uninhabitable, abandoned three bedroom property I acquired at property tax auction for $500.
Soon to be bulldozed away, as it is a health hazard filled with vermin and nocuous mold.
Built in 1940, many of all stripes have come and gone but none will EVER live here again.
Clearing the lot allows me to expand my homestead, garden and sanctuary. Amen

Back from town - Reuben sandwich at the Wagon Wheel Cafe. I picked up my knife at the mail box on the way to town as I said I would. What a great knife. Perfect in every way. Camillus did such a good job with these knives for Remington. Anyway, here it is - the knife not the Reuben sandwich.
