What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Good Morning Porch Friends

Starting with my Usual Lamb

And adding the GEC Eureka Jack
Great pairing today John, love that simple oval shield…it’s not a hotdog of course, but still very nice. 😎👍
It has been pretty funny, and it all started with an innocent posting of a new knife.
SHARK! SHARK! …I don’t know what happened…all I did was dump this bucket of fish guts overboard. 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks Todd. So far just mild, cold like symptoms. I’m on day 4. A lot of vitamins, soup, water and rest. Oh yea messing with my collection, cleaning, oiling and stropping.

Fortunately, I’m the only one that has tested positive or feeling ill in my house. Wife and kids are good so far. Been contained in the bedroom watching Lonesome Dove 🤠.
Good to hear Taylor, I hope it passes soon. Sounds like you really know how to pass the time. Lonesome Dove…what a great choice. 😎👍

My BS and MS are in mechanical engineering,
My son started out in Engineering, but found he was much better at the science than the shop, so switched to Physics.
Have you considered carrying a small neck knife John
I have, but it just seems a little too up-front and tacticool for me.
I prefer to keep my knives out of public view unless I have need to use them.

Two amazing knives... Can't find two that are any more useful. 🤠

Thanks John. That lamb was a gift from Ed Modoc ED Modoc ED . 😉👍

I don't plan on going anywhere today, so carrying it around in the yard is as close to totin' as I'm going to get

Totin is totin Mike mbkr mbkr !!!! Doesn't matter if ya carry it to the head to take a leak or break wind in the garage. As long as you have it with you, you're totin. Just having it at your desk or whatever, as long as it's out of the box you're totin.

Nice knife.

Worked some more on my knife data base . My kids promised to help do it , but that did not work out , and I have a hard time staying concentrated on it . I am just putting in all of the knives that have a decent value so far . I have only been working on it for about 2 years off and on . Mostly Off I guess .
Pardon the dark photos of what I am carrying today . It just happens to be my KOTY . Northfield 83 Dark Brewed .

Harry

Harry, Your data base efforts seem to reflect my dismal progress on mine. I started it awhile ago, and only managed to enter 54 knives of a few hundred. If I don't get back at it, it's gonna be too late!

Put my Don Morrow Trapper in my pocket for the first day of the new year.

Ah hah moment! New Years resolution: work on knife database!

Happy New Year to all! May 2022 bring happiness, good health and prosperity to you and your families!

Everytime I get mine up-to-date, I end up with several more knives in quick succession and then I’m behind again. 🙄

Sparkly! 😁

Great pic :)

Happy New Year my friend, I'm lucky that there are several steam railways close to where I live. You can even have a pint of hand-pulled ale, as you ride the rails, and watch the beautiful countryside go by :)

LOL! :D Great choice John, and I love the pic :)

Many thanks JJ, a Barlow is always a great steam train companion :)

Enjoying a drink on a regular train isn’t quite as romantic as on a steam train, but I don’t think there’s a steam train that runs from London to Bath. 😁

(Ok, turns out there actually is a steam train from London to Bath, but it looks like it runs about once a year, and tickets are £525 per passenger.) 😳😁

I was toting these two today.

The Boker was a Christmas present. It’s meant to look like a brook trout; and I think they did a pretty good job.

That trout knife is very cool! 😎

This GEC made Remington will reside in pocket for two blade Tuesday.

Nicely photographed.

I'd give up on my "unmentionables" too. 🤠

😲🙈😁

Indoor photo for me today, ‘cause it’s cold outside! I’ve got the Angus Jack in my pocket again (gave it a few weeks off over Christmas), and enjoying a cuppa builder’s tea.

If I could (legally) pocket carry a small fixed blade, I'd give up on my "unmentionables" too. 🤠
I can legally carry anything, but sometimes it's best to be discrete. (a multi-tool is sufficiently school-friendly) This one has a belt sheath, but I'm more likely to favor something fully concealed in pocket.
I like that little fixed blade! I'm afraid I'm guilty of carrying both a small fixed blade and, well you know! ;)
Thanks! I do like having options, so I'm not throwing anything away.

View attachment 1715781Beautiful here in Central Texas…

I understand that I should not mess with Texas and do not intend to do so. However, I remain unsure of an inclusive definition of "mess with." Does it include asking pesky questions of Texas residents, and if so, what is the penalty as per the Don't Mess with Texas Policy?

Asking for a friend.

This may seem like an incongruous pairing
But there’s just some things one can do, the other can’t
Can’t play Mumbletypeg (Tom Sawyer spelling) with a Victorinox Rambler
What would the fellas think
So, Dave Shirley era Northwoods along with
Mumbletypeg … In fact, I’m sure that’s why Dave had this knife made …
Well, pretty sure, maybe. Prolly not to tighten Phillips Screws

“Don’t mess with Texas” in this case is an anti-litter campaign that started in the 1980s.
